Missfire when cold

Hi everyone. I have an automatic -2000 limited v6 4runner. Just bought it. Changed spark plugs, First thing in morning only, rpm goes 1500, down to1300, misfires here, 1 cilynder i woud say for 30-40 seconds and later on after 50 or so seconds engine is gaining rpm up to 1700 or so where it is suposed to be. Engine runs smooth from now on. Anybody experianced such think? i have been through threads here and i don't see anything similar. No engine codes or so.

ignition coils.

I was having some misfire problems with my 3rd gen. i took her in and i needed new ignition coils and boots. hope this helps. :thumb3:

Hey Alan,

Did the problem begin when you installed the new plugs? If so then maybe you bought the wrong type plugs. I think there is a sticky that covers this. Basically only dual electrode type plugs go in this engine.

i talked to a mechanic. he said 100.000 km on that engine is too early for coils. I will stop by to check it during the week.

original from dealership 90092-10092. misfire was before i changed plugs. that is the reason why i did it.
