Missing fuel cap question

Did the rookie mistake of driving off without my fuel cap. It's gone... Ordered a new one and won't be in till the 9th. Have a lid door type thing that locks so no one can see that I'm missing it but however will I be good otherwise for a couple of days without one?

Yup. You'll probably throw a check engine light, but it'll go away once you get the new cap on there.

I'd avoid smoking or open flames in that area, there will be gas fumes.
