missing piece in the center console in the back seat

Hi everyone!

It's my first post as a PROUD owner of a 01 T4R with 70k miles. I traded in my 05 Nissan Xterra for it. The X just had too many problems with the Cats and fuel sending unit and serpentine belts every 30k miles etc..

So I have a question about the center console. When sitting in the back seat there is a ash tray and the tempature control for the vents under the seats, but right about it there is a empty slot and i just wanted to know what it was.
