Moderators

I am just wondering if moderators are monitoring the FORUMS? If so, they really don't do that much. Such as moving posts to correct locations or suggesting/telling people to use the seach feature. I get kind of tired of searching through the same old questions being rehashed because no one uses the search feature. Does this just bother me, or is anyone else kind of annoyed by this?

These moderators are worth every penny they're paid. Oh wait, they're not paid, they do this because of their interest in the forums and because they're willing to help. So I think they're doing a fine job.

Sure, some folks don't use the search feature when they should, but quite a few are new to forums and don't have the slightest idea about how a forum works, much less a search feature.

Duplicate questions don't bother me, it's easy to skip over them and go to topics I'm interested in.

Sorry to disagree, but I don't think the moderators have any criticism coming.

I bet the forum management would be happy to discuss letting you moderate one of the forums if you want to donate some time?

Thanks Atomic for saying what i wanted to say. The moderators & admins do our best to keep the forum organized. There will ALWAYS be repeated questions...and we try our best to point them in the right direction, but we obviously cannot answer every repeated question immediately. This is where we need the other members to help us.

This forum is completely voluntary...we don't ask money from you nor do we get paid ourselves. This is our hobby, not our daily job. Please have some understanding.

I can't believe Thai posted on his Wedding day..... As a moderator there are times we don't move the posts to another location, this being under Northeast is a good example. We try and keep most of the post where they are, but we will move them if we feel it is warranted. As far as asking the same question over and over again, it does happen. Sometimes some new things come up, sometimes we mention that other threads are up and I try to link those. Recently, we closed a V6 vs. V8 thread as it wasn't going anywhere and it was getting a little unruly. We must have 10 threads on this subject.

You are right in that the moderators don't do much, we try not to interfere and if we do we try to smooth things out after we do it.
