Mojave Road on 1 full tank?

I want to go back there, especially since the weather has cooled down. Also, there is a lot of dispersed camping sites along the trail so feel free to explore.

Nothing technical about that trail. Has a little bit of everything. Make sure to check your suspension bolts when you get to camp, especially the lower rear links. I would paint marker the bolts/nuts so you know if its moved, and you can just glance down there.

Everything that isn't loctite down will be loose by the end of your trip..ROFL.

I ran parts of the road while living in SoCal, but not the full trip. There are a few sights on the way if time allows.

Lava Tube
Aiken Cinder Mine
Hole in the Wall
Macedonia Canyon

Will watch for your trip report.

OMG I wouldn't recommend being under a moving freight train. Tar and ballast can come raining down.

Thanks for this. Doing this Thanksgiving Day, hope to air down at juncture of 95 and Mojave Road by 10AM that day. You are welcome to join us. Not doing entire trail, envision going in like 40-45 miles tops then returning in same direction. Camping out Thursday and Friday night hopefully near Joshua Tree Area. Tom

It's a good trip, photos are starting from Hwy 95 going west, the "No Shooting sign" is at the top. The penny can comes a little later. The Lava Tube and Aiken Cinder Mine are interesting to go to.
