Moog 81088 V8 4WD springs in V6 4WD

I have not seen a lot of people post about these springs but I thought I would share my results. I installed Moog 81088 springs (4WD v8) on my 4WD V6 with New OEM shocks. they are .3 in. longer than the Moog 81090 (4WD V6) OE replacement. I also did the Moog 81045 springs in the back witch is the same for V6 or V8. My OEM springs I replaced measured 13.7 and 13.5. left/right. The Moog 810088 measured 14.5 and 14.1. These were just ruff measurements. The springs rates are similar 580 v.s 595. and 180 v.s 190 for the rear. I gained about .7-1.0inch in the front and the rears was minimal gain. pretty happy with the results.

Moog 81045

Since almost a year now since Moog 81045 was installed, Was it flushed to the bottom? I have 2006 Runner 4WD but when I installed the rear coil spring it will not seat properly no matter what. The bottom lower end of the rear coil springs diameter was small.

I wasted my $50 bucks for this rear coil springs.

From what I hear, that's a common issue with the Moog T4R rear springs. Some sets fit, others don't. People have had luck grinding away at the inner surface of the spring with an angle grinder if the difference in diameter isn't too massive.

I bought Moog FJ springs when I went to Bilstein 5100s.

The Moog rear coil ID was about 0.25 in too small. I ended up cutting off a 1/4 coil with the angle grinder, then got a good fit and still raised the rear about one inch.

I put back my OEM Toyota (yellow paint on the rear coil springs) back since moog81045 will not seat. I still dont know if i get OEM or upgrade it.

The poc Attached the moog 81045 that i removed was before i tried to slide to fit the groove. I did moved the spring to aligned the groove but with no luck.

Thank you so much zekeedwards. I've been trying to find the right small lift without compromising ride quality. This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks so much for these details.

I'll definitely either go with the MOOG 81088 (+0.7"-1") or the OME 883 (+~1.2")

Now I just need to find about a 0.5" out of the rear. I'm thinking the OEM FJC springs, which should give about 0.6"-0.75". One question I have for anyone that might know is this:
There's a sticky over in the suspension/lift section that includes spring rates and lengths for a variety of coils. In it, it notes "OEM FJC", but it doesn't note which years or versions apparently there are four different possibilities: 2WD and 4WD versions, and early (<2010) vs late (2010+).

Anyone know?
