More 95' 4WD problems

Alright I've got some 4wd problems on my 95' A.D.D V6 5spd I've tried replacing the fluids in my diffs and transfer case as well as flipping the vacuum hoses all to no avail. Does the sensor with the wires coming out of the front of the diff have any thing to do with controlling the sleeves. Also My right hub has been making a griding noise I believe it needs to be greased. Any thoughts.

The wires you speak of, I believe, are for the 4x4 display light in the dash. My wires are ripped off so my display light does not work, but my 4wd system still works.

As far as the grinding noise. If you have the ADD system you have no hub to speak of, just a plate that keeps the front axels engaged. It sounds like you might need some wheel bearings or a CV joint. If the CV boots are good, you probably need new wheel bearings.

Another place to look with the grinding is the brakes.

I wish that was all I had wrong with mine. Looks like I have to at least re-do the heads on my 3.0L. All of a sudden it started smoking like a freight train at idle, but what can one expect when there is 293,000 miles on a vehicle.

I had almost the same problem you have, and at first I thought "Ok, bad CV joint," because thats usually what a bad joint does. Come to find out, the sleeve in the ADD wasnt actuating, because the sleeve in my front diff was toast. After a little research, I came to the conclusion that the only way you can really do that is if you shift on-the-fly moving fairly fast, or by using 4WD on hard surfaces, like a road. Suddenly, I lost respect for the previous owner. Just something else to look at, drain or flush your front diff fluid into a big glass jar. Save the fluid and see if a bunch of metal settles to the bottom. Chances are its the sleeve.

Damn, the previous owner is anal about every thing including car care. My dad knows his wife to be, Hopefully he wouldn't do that. I changed the diff fluid when I found out my 4wd wasn't working hoping that would help, and didn't. This was after I swamped the runner. It's at the shop right now so I'm hoping to hear from them in a few minutes to tell me she ready to be picked up. But the screwed up sleeve would explain the screwed up 4wd.

Edit: 4WD is now working and its is only a bearing.
