More lift

i have a 2002 sport edition. I put a 3" toytec spring lift on a few weeks ago and 265/75/16 tires. The front measures 36.5 from ground to fender. I tried putting 285/75/16 and they seemed too big. My question is, can i take the small spacer out that makes my front a 3" lift and put a bigger spacer, and will i still be able to get a correct alignment. I want to run 285/75/16. The spacer my lift came with is for 1/2" of lift with the 2 1/2" spring, makes it 3". Im thinking about taking out the 1/2" spacer and putting a 2" spacer for a total of 4 1/2 inches in the front. I have seen other 2002 4runners with the same lift i have and they seem way taller, 36.5 seems almost stock……thanks for any help or ideas

You might want to look into getting a body lift, your suspension in front is nearly maxed out.

I'm looking into a 1" or 2" body lift. Check out ToyTec

3 inches is the max you can safely lift the front suspension. Any more than that, the suspension won't have enough droop travel. If you would like to go higher, a body lift will be your best option like CenCaliFoothill said.

What shocks are you using with those springs?
I also like to use center of hub to fender measurements to more accurately determine lift height. You could probably squeeze a little more lift using adjustable 5100's if you're not already.

thanks for the info. The shocks are the stock original with 78,000 miles. center hub to fender is 21 3/4". Do you think it is the shocks? does 21 3/4" sound right.

I think that's your issue, you will eventually blow the shocks with springs that tall. I have fairly new KYB monomax shocks and 99 tall coils and my front hub to fender is 21.25"
I think most guys with bilstein 5100s and eibachs on bottom perch are around 23" or more.

i checked and want to buy the 5100s but I'm trying to get them local at 4 wheel in orlando florida and he says they don't make them, so toytec must have them special made for them or something. If not does someone have a part#? starting with 24- or 34-. or where i can get the best price…..

Either Tacoma or Tundra 5100s. A lot of people run the Tundra ones, I got mine for $360 for a full front/rear shock set from Down South Motorsports.
