More of a brute than I thought it was.

This is my first post in the forums, had my runner for about a month or so and have used T4R for many many questions that I've had. Ya'll are a great help.

But here's my story.

Last night some drunk a$$hat in a mustang pulled out into the far lane ( I was in the right hand lane) I figured they would stay in the lane that they pulled into like a normal driver would , considering that no one was even near them in that lane. I was wrong , they had maybe accelerated to about 25, then slowly started coming over into my lane with out a signal, I punched the horn like anyone else would, they didn't get back over at all til about 20 seconds later. In the mean time I had the only option of steering towards the curb and popping up the curb going about 55 or so. I'm at stock height , with the stock running boards, the curb was about 10 inches or so tall. The runner handled it like a champ, no damage at all, not even tire or wheel damage can be seen.

Moral of the story, :happens: and the runner can handle some crazy situations.
Such a great vehicle.

I had a lady in an xterra do something similar recently. Only she heard me honk, and she flipped me the bird?? Guess it was my fault for driving in a straight line at the speed limit??

People are crazy.

Yeah, guess it's our fault for driving in a straight line :thumb3: haha.
I would have been really pissed if the truck got messed up, I had just washed it, cleaned the interior. and the fact that I just totaled a vehicle 2 months ago. I would have chased the person down on foot and gave them a piece of my mind. :ak472::flipoff:

I would get an alignment and have your steering rack and ball joints checked just in case. A curb at 55 is no joke.

I definitely will be having this done within the next week. My alignment was out a little to begin with. I'm actually surprised my tire didn't blow. And in all reality I had probably slowed down to about 45 , maybe 40. But I'll still have it checked our.

The only problem was that she did not clear me yet as half of her car was still beside me. Sounds similar to the reaction the lady had when I blew the horn. :thumb3: I guess I was in the wrong for paying attention to my surroundings.
I realize the t4r isn't exactly a super huge suv, but how the hell do you miss it coming down the road???

Can't remember that far back. But they are red and round and I put in two and a relay to handle the load. Mounted middle front behind the grill.

Some woman let her foot off the brake when she was stopped at a stop sign
that was perpendicular to the road and I had to slam on the brakes because she was out in the road. I was doing almost 55 and went to 0 in a couple seconds.
She was scared sh*tless when she saw me coming.

I just hate when people drive ignorantly , and don't pay attention at all.

140,000 miles and the brakes are still good. I've done a lot of quick stops and some fast slam on brakes stops.

Stopping Distance is like :wow:

140,000 miles is quite impressive on brakes! I'm at around 132,000.

I do alot of quick stops. And I'm pretty sure my truck has had almost 3 full sets of brakes on it. I'm the second owner, the first owner got taken for a ride on multiple things from what I can see on the service history. I'm also pretty sure almost every fluid has been changed multiple times.:driving: But I ain't gonna complain about it. and yeah, the term :happens: definitely applies when driving 99% of the time. :driving:
