Man I received my parts order the other day and decided while I am waiting for the new transmission to arrive that I would go ahead and install the new motor mounts. Took me all afternoon to do 2 friggin' motor mounts???? I mean come on these engineers can surely come up with better designs than this? What an absolute ****show of a job to do. Glad that it is done but damn I would never want to do that baloney ever again. *****RANT OVER*****

Yeah, that is not a fun job. I had a broken one, bought both of them to replace, and after doing the broken one, left the other one alone for a month or two until I felt like diving into that again.

Side note: If your motor mounts are sagged, it makes it MUCH HARDER to remove/replace the front diff

whats the shop rate for that job ? Is it one of those that you just say...."this aint worth it"

Well being that there aren't any shops I trust to do it as good as I will and the fact that I couldn't afford their ridiculous labor rates it kind of doesn't matter. But if you have a good shop and lot's of money then yes I would say "it ain't worth it" kind of job. But now that it is done I am pleased that I persevered and got er' done. Just got email that the new Transmission from Yota1 will be here on Wed. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! Finally can start putting her back together.

Motor mounts have always been a pain for me. The engineers don’t care about ease of replacement afterwards. They care about how it fits when it goes together. Plus the harder it is to do things the more likely you are to just have the dealership do it.

The thing you have to remember is that the engineers design the engine, transmission and the rest of the driveline to be installed on the assembly line BEFORE the body is installed, so it's no wonder working on all those components is much harder after the vehicle is all together, on some vehicles you have to pull the engine to install new spark plugs!!

Yes it even kicked my butt to! Man it sucked so damn bad. Hell even vw motor mounts are easier! The only other worse one I did was a front mount on a Nissan altema 2.5l. Gosh darn it, it sucks.

on some fords you have to pull the cab off to do some engine work
