Mounting Jerry Cans on Factory Roof Rack

Does the bottom stay flat or does it "curve" with the cross bar curvature?

Another question, have you stood on top of this before? I am wondering becuase I'd like to, if I needed to, be able to go up there and take photos.

I have this rack and I don't think I'd stand on top of it, especially if you have it on the factory crossbars.

For most use cases you do not need a dedicated mounting solution for a gas can. Put it on the roof, put a cloth under it if you don’t want to scratch your roof paint, and tie it down securely.

The claim the Rotopax leak at the top of this thread is simply not accurate in my experience. I just drove 100+ mile through highways, trails all over Mendocino NF, and back home with a 3 gallon Rotopax strapped to my factory roof rack with no leak, no movement. Just get a $10 nylon tie down from Home Depot and do this:
