Move DAC button to the middle space

Let me start off by saying that I did a search for this on several forums and found information on moving the DAC button to the dashboard but I would like to use the center blank where the air leveling suspension button (I think) would be.

I took my center consol apart but all three holes have different cut outs so the DAC button won't slide into the space with out some modding.

Has anyone done this?

The center consol has room for 2-seat heater controls, 2-buttons for rear susp. (1 for height adj and 1 on/off), and 1 button for DAC. Could you use the slot on the left side of the dash, where the center locking diff switch is? If you have 4wd there should be a blank there. If you don't have curtain airbags there should be another one.

I saw the write up for that, but the amount of splicing/wiring looked a little intimidating.

I have enough slack in the existing connection to move the connector to any of the existing consol spaces.

I've been following the heated seats thread in Accessories and I would like to move my DAC to the middle slot and have the seat buttons to either side but I don't see how it can be done without some grinding.

I have 3 blank spaces on the dash and 2 on the center.

I'll have to search for that thread moving of the DAC button next to the locking diff button. I alway thought of doing it but If I've got to slice wires and crap.....not good for me. I thought I could pull the wires and move the switch.

Just out of curiosity, what would be the point of moving it? Especially just to another spot on the center console?

Like HeavyD said in his 2nd post in this thread: "I've been following the heated seats thread in Accessories and I would like to move my DAC to the middle slot and have the seat buttons to either side..." There are only 3 slots in the SR5 console.

I looked at mine today, and it wouldn't take much modification to move the DAC button to the center. Looks to be just a small notch to cut on the left for the button to fit.

When I installed the seat heaters today, I moved the DAC button to the center. So now the console has the seat heater controls in the two outboard positions, and the DAC in the center.

A Dremel would do the job well. I had a knife handy and had the mod done in about 30 seconds -- less time than getting the Dremel out.

Id like to move mine to the dashboard because my dog keeps stepping on the DAC button on the center console while I'm driving down the freeway. Any updates to this mod? Is it an easy move? Thanks.

A few people have done this mod here including me. I wanted to move the DAC up and the 115v button down to the center console. My method was to cut the factory connectors off with a little wire left on them, run a bunch of new wires between the two locations, and connect the connector back onto the other end of the new extended wires. Others have been successful with the loom and tape removed from the console harness and say the wires are long enough to reach the swapped locations once unbound.

DAC button should be least of worries! If your driving down freeway and that dog causes you to hit someone and wreck DAC ain't gonna do $hit! Keep dog in back seat or cargo! It's a law in my state, dogs are worse than texting and driving!
