Move to new server complete

Hey all, the move to the new server is now complete - thanks for your patience during the transition :)

Also, I've added some Google ads which are a little weird cuz I have no control over what actually pops up in them - the Google computer picks the ad based on site content (kind of like their new email system I think). I've heard from other site admins that the Google ads generate good revenue so I'm gonna give it a try - hopefully you won't find them too annoying.

It looks good. The large MEMEBERS was freaking me out for awhile, but now it looks great.

Why did we have to go to a new server? Were we out growing our old one or was it some other reason?

Here's the message I got from my old server on Thursday :D

Hello Greg - The domain, toyota-4runner.org, has outgrown our virtual server, Qbert, and is currently causing serious performance problems on the server as a result. We kindly ask that you please upgrade your account to a Dedicated Server which will adequately meet your needs. Based on the traffic your site is receiving and resources it is consuming, we would recommend upgrading to a minimum of a Dedicated Server to ensure that there are adequate server resources available to support your site. If you have multiple accounts, you do have the option of moving all of them to a Virtual Private or Dedicated server, however, please be sure the server selected includes adequate resources.

For more information or to place an order, please visit the following links:
Virtual Private Servers: https://www.venturesonline.com/hosting/vps.html
Dedicated Servers: https://www.venturesonline.com/hosting/dedicated.html

Due to the serious impact your account is having on our virtual server, it is critical that you account be upgraded ASAP. If this account continues to impact performance on our server, we may have no choice but to suspend it and certainly do not wish to do this.

Regards,
Laura Cashman

We're now sharing a server with AcuraMDX.org :)

I noticed that the NEW Posts Icon is missing and the only way to see new posts is to go to the front page and hit "View New Post"

You used to be able to hit the icon on any page while you were looking through the board...

Just something I noticed, not sure if it's "fixable".

I noticed twice yesterday this site locked me out, saying too many people were logged on. Hopefully that was just a cliche and not something that will happen all the time. Anyone else have problems besides me???

I had problems all yesterday. Very slow and sometimes not letting me veiw messages at all. I hope it doesn't continue, it was very frustrating yesterday.

It just happened to me 30 minutes ago...it's great to see t4r.org is getting bigger...more members...I will get more knowledge about 4Runner...:D ... do you believe I spend at least 3 hours everyday on the site...great resources.

I also spend most of my evening cruising this site. I average around 3 hours a day too!

Thanks Gatorgreg for making the upgrade. Without this forum, i am not sure what i am gonna do?? I will be lost...maybe i will join a Chevy Trailblazer forum to harrass them!:D

Since the server switch I have been having access issues too. About 30% of the time I get database errors or very slow response times. The old server was much faster and less error prone.

Subsribed threads

GatorGreg,
Not sure if this is server related but ever since the change I am unable to "View all subscribed threads". I changed the length of time from 1 to many days and even subsribed to a recent thread. Still get "There have been no new posts in the last (30) days to your subscribed threads". I didn't change any settings at my end.
