Mpg for v8s on 33s

Better than me! Im on 33in Toyo open countries and I'm getting roughly 16 hwy and maybe 14.5 city.

I would definitely hand calculate your numbers as well. My mods are listed in my signature, and I just added full RCI steel skids and a roof basket a week ago as well. Before those last two additions, I hand calculated my highway mileage just above 18 mpg, city around 15.3 mpg.
I went to Moab this past weekend and fully loaded from SLC to Moab I got 18 mpg on the nose. Around town city mileage I get about 14.7 mpg. I try to never go above 74 mph on the highway, otherwise, my mileage falls pretty hard. (It can be annoying since the speed limit is 80 mph across my state...)

12 mpg combined on 285’s... But I live on a mountain. As a reference I used to get 14 mpg with stock tires. You should expect a 2 mpg drop.

12 average, calculated not the with the display MPG, its a V8 SUV with 33's not a car.

Don't forget, that by upsizing your tire diameter from factory that the speedo/odometer will also no longer be correct by a % so even when you account for the "1-2 mpg drop" that larger tires are typically said to have, you also have to take into account the small % larger rolling diameter that is to your benefit.

Idk how you all are calculating your mpg's but I'm averaging 11.7 combined. There's a lot more you have to consider than just city driving and highway driving. I have 285/75/16 tires, roof basket and a bunch of stuff that usually stays up there. Including a not so low profile tool box. Try using the Fuelly App. All you do is enter in vehicle info, odo reading, miles traveled since last fill up, gallons filled, etc. I just started using it after a friend of mind showed it to me.

You're also in Colorado, so keep that in mind...
Going from the stock 265/65 or whatever they were, I lost 1-2mpg (hand calculated). I saw my MPGs dip after I got my headers installed, but I think that had to do with my recently replaced rack was falling off. I just reset the odo on this tank so I'll let you know but I think it's really right around 16-17mpg, with the higher number being the weeks I have more highway miles, and the lower being the weeks I have more city miles.

Roof rack with stuff, 2.5 lift, cbi front bumper, 33s I get 12 to 13 city hand calculated, and 16.5 hiway max, going 65 on the dot by gps.

As for everyone talking about their speedo/odo being off after getting bigger tires, look into a speedohealer.
I’ve only gone up to 32” tires at the moment but I’m OCD with certain things and knowing my odometer was off with the bigger tires drove me nuts. This was a pretty easy install and fully customizable. I plan on going to 33’s with my next tires and I’ll just change the % on the speedohealer and it’ll be right on.
I’ve tested it against a gps unit and it’s right on now.

I’m definitely considering getting one because it is pretty annoying especially for us OCD types, lol!
I average roughly 13.5 with city and high miles, including trips from Denver to the mountains. That's on 275/70/R18 E load tires, rear CBI bumper w/ full size spare, roof rack, and 150lb RTT. Without wind and flat highway driving, I can get around 16-17 keeping it under 80.

12.9 mpg with my setup, according to the read out. Was at around 16mpg stock.

Did you get the universal version? I was looking at the universal version 4, which is a bit over $100, does that sound right?

Yea it was the universal one. The price sounds about right. I did it about 4 years ago, but I think it was just over $100.
There’s a thread somewhere on here that has the step by step pictures on how to install the universal version. It was pretty easy.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I remember seeing a thread like you described a year or two ago. I’ll probably snag one, and get it installed soon because I hate having stuff that either doesn’t work, or in this case is inaccurate!
