Mpg for v8s on 33s

While I agree with you, and also enjoy the smiles per gallon I get with the V8, I don't see the harm in trying to get the most out of it we can. MPG's obviously directly impact the range we can get (some of us have to travel forever to get to the mountains...) 33's are a good benchmark for a capable offroad vehicle. You can generally get away with less, but they look and act the part and actually add ground clearance.

I'm curious who here has regeared when going to 33's. What did you go with and what are your thoughts? Is it necessary or are the 3.73's enough.

Hey guys,

Curious what you are getting in your v8 runners with 33s. Currently on 265/70/17 wildpeaks and the computer says I get 16.7 mpg. Obviously thinking bigger tires next go around. Thanks for the help!

No armor, empty truck, 32".
275/65/18 Toyo AT2 E rated, which has made my speedo closer than it used to be, 82.5 mph actual at 80. But I hate the tires, and now the ride.
13.5-14mpg though

Glad I have a company gas card.

About 16.9 at freeway speeds, 17.5 at 45-55 mph, hand calculated with odometer corrections accounted for. Configured as per my signature below. That tire size is 32".
