So I got a '91 a couple weeks back.
It's 4x4, 5 speed, 22RE.

I'm totally new to 4x4 so I'm gonna ask a lotta dumb questions.

Things that were there when I got the truck:
*Worst tint in the world
*Half-removed alarm unit
*Electronic door locks
*Brush guard with fog lights
*31s

Things I've done:
*Add manual 4x4 switch to bypass broken sensor in the transfer case
*Replace dead stock stereo with brand new Kenwood

Things I know I need:
*Windshield
*Brake fluid flush
*Fluids that aren't brake fluid flush
*Name for the truck
*Replace CVs

Things I think I need:
*1-2" lift
*33s
*Regear
*Roof rack
*More lights
*New speakers
*New carpet
*Lower driver's seat

Here's a picture of my dog Jack riding shotgun:

If there wasn't that car on the left, I'd swear it was a brochure! Beautiful runner man! The fogs look good, but the push bar would look way better painted, maybe remove the chip guard too?

I already got the chip guard. I'll think about painting, but that definitely goes after mechanical work. I'll try to get more pictures up this weekend while I'm restoring the brakes.
Also thanks :)

Yeah. Haha. Cosmetic stuff is what keeps me inspired for mechanical stuff. The front brakes are pretty easy, I did mine this week, the hardest part was dealing with the calipers (if you've got disks)

You guys just need to wait until I post more pictures. There's some rust and dents that need work on the sides.
Anyway, is there a way to raise the steering wheel? It's not adjustable on mine and it currently sits between my legs.

So my friend and I worked on the truck today. I didn't take many pictures as the work was getting done.
Anyway we bled the brakes and rotated the tires. The brake fluid looked like it had been sitting there for a long time. While we had the wheels off I noticed that one of the CV boots tore on the front left wheel. I guess I'll have to add that to my fix list.

Anyway here are some random pictures I took:

A closeup of the mystery dent in the back. Whoever fixed this didn't bother sanding the paint before bondoing. I'll decide if it's worth fixing later.

Here's my ADD bypass switch. OFF ROAD locks the ADD mechanism and turns on the 4WD light. ON ROAD disconnects the ADD.

I'll probably take it off road around Banner Grade tomorrow. I'll cross my fingers that the CV joint doesn't crap out while I'm driving.

Is the cv boot flinging grease all over the place yet? Does it look dry inside of the boot? All the boot does is hold the grease in. So if it's ripped but there's still some grease in there no big deal for now. Do you now how many miles are on the cvs?

And IMO, since this is your first 4wd wait a while on the lift and regear. Get to know your and your trucks capabilities then when you upgrade you will be a much better driver

I don't have any service records or anything on the truck and I'm pretty sure the tear was there when I got it. There's almost no grease left inside it.

Good point. I'll still leave it on the list of things to do since I'm also using the post as a reminder to myself of all the things I want to do long term.

I decided that I don't have time to replace the axle before I head out to the desert so I'm going to just hope it lasts until February.
However, I'd been having issues with a sticky parking brake. I'd mostly been leaving it off but someone else pulled it when they drove the truck. Now It's fully engaged and the lever is no longer connected to the parking brake cable. Is there something I can do to release it or fix it before I head out on a trip this Saturday?
