mud cleaning

how do you guys clean the mud out of your engine bay?

That's easy. Don't follow green 4runner's though mud holes.


I haven't even looked at mine yet. Probable just take some engine cleaner to it and lower a pressure wash at the car wash.

I hate mud though. That will be the only and last time my truck goes through that much mud.

Playing in mud is a blast but everyone hates the clean up, especially me cause I'm anal about keeping my rig clean. Here's what I always do:
- Hose it off and get the big stuff off
- Take Simple Green or Engine Degreaser and spray it all over. Let it soak in real good, then hose it off
- I always cover my battery but that's just me
- Let it dry off a bit and then start her up and let the heat of the engine dry the rest of it
I've done this multiple times and no problems what-so-ever. You wouldn't even know I've wheeled it through mud. If you've got some real tough, hardened stuff than take a tooth brush too it and scrub it real good.

i mudded enough jeeps to know its generally not a good thing to do. it makes future work/mods a complete nightmare and to me its not worth it. i look at it like giving the truck herpes. sure its fun for a little but is it worth it when your **** starts itching and burning

mud is painful. muddy water is alright but just mud in your engine compartment and underneath is the worst. i hate the clean up but usually i just take it to one of those self wash places ( couple of times they told me i can't use it b/c i'll clog their drain with all the mud on the car still) pop the hood. spray simple green or go to autoparts store and buy special engine cleaner. let it soak while u spray the rest of the car off..then spray down the engine compartment. after that take a brush and clean what u need to. take some tire shine and wipe plastic parts down and it will look new again.

its just as soon as any mud hits ur fan..it sprays it everywhere.
