Does anybody have an idea where to get a set of mud flaps for my new sr5, after driving in this winter weather there is a need for them or has someone already installed some?

I am looking for mud guards as well. Especially, the front tyre is spraying all kind of dibres on the side doors.
Did any one have idea or where to get them?

I'll be looking for those big flappy rallye style ones.
In Subaru world they were STI '08+ Mud Flaps Blue Logo. I'd like to find something similar for the 4Runner.

SR5 models in Canada come with front and rear mud guards that bolt into the fender liner. Since the 4Runner is globally produced, I suspect the same holes will be in place on US models, and that you could order a set from Canada and bolt them on in an afternoon.
Deke - the Canada model has totally different front and rear bumpers for the SR5, particularly at the corners where the rear bumper meets the fender liner and where the SR5 has a side skirt at the front corner. I would imagine the fender trim is a completely different shape, as well, to accomodate the different bumpers.

That is the same body package that goes on our USA 4 cyl. model SR5. I love that look.Too bad they only offer it to us in the 4 cyl..Wonder how many they'll sell?
It has the same black plastic flares/mud flaps/rocker panels as the Trail Ed..
The front and rear bumper covers are similar to the TE without the black plastic add on pieces in the front and rear and are painted body color.

Quentin, yes, maybe they won't fit, but if the US 4-cyl SR5 comes in that style, a Toyota mechanic should be able to determine if they can be used. (We don't have a 4-cyl option in Canada.)
These mud guards are a little small anyway - they do keep some debris off the doors, but I would probably want bigger ones if I was going to go through the trouble of installing some.

I went on the TIS yesterday and confirmed this. The US V6 SR5 and Limited have the body style called "X-runner", which has a very different shape, especially around the side skirt where the TE and 4cyl have just a tiny strip instead of the large molded sideskirt. Interestingly enough, the method of which the OEM running boards are held on is very similar to that of the larger sideskirt on the "X-runner" models. Based on the drawings, it looks like you have to go all X-runner or all regular as far as your bumpers and skirts go. The whole perimeter around the bottom of the car is model specific.
If I'm unfortunate enough to hit a deer (again), I'll do the full trail exterior on my SR5 (hood, bumpers, headlights, fender trim). I figure I can sell the whole kit to someone who wants to "upgrade" their look.

Yep , and as I just found out a whole lot more including front inner wheel well liners,flares, brackets that tie the fender to the bumpers,brackets to connect to the aluminum bumpers and the wash out panels underneath.
I have all the parts catolog references with part numbers if somebody wants them.Just be sitting down at the parts counter when they add up the cost.It was a $1700 just for the TE rocker panels,flares,brackets ,wash out panels and inner fender well plastics when I had them ordered last week .Bumper covers alone are $800 a piece.
All told,over $4500 at retail for all the parts and that does'nt include the TE hood or lights. Dealer cost is ALOT less of course.

That info should be given to owners at a big discount or for free.
To those that don't know it's " Toyota Information System" and has all the manuals,SB's, blueprints,all kinds of good stuff. ect.
I agree, it is a ridiculously useful tool and I'd kill to have the whole thing on CD for the long term ownership of my vehicle. Simply amazing detail. :wink2:

Me too, me too! Driving up in snowy WI I have found that without flaps and/or boards snow/slush fly up on the panel below the doors (especially along the chrome trim below door, like a slush magnet)- and unless you taller and hop in the 4Runner you will no doubt get slimed on the way in and out.
Yes, I'm very anxious to see where you got those. They appear to fit much better than the other pictures I've seen. Just picked up my ride this week and want to get the mud flaps on there before I pick up an annoying rock chip.
