I'm not opposed to getting a magnaflow, do they make one thats like one step less throaty?

Trying to pick a muffler and new tires have been my biggest headaches! Too many options that I'm paralyzed to make a choice!

I can maybe help you out with the tires, I have yokohama geolanders and absolutely love the. I hunt, fish, off rod, and everything else outdoorsy and they do a good job.

I'm actually looking for very aggressive looking A/Ts or M/Ts that have good on road performance. The geolanders don't make the initial cut

this thread is an absolute joke, dont take anything CoB said in that thread with anyseriousness. that can happen with any muffler and he is just over reacting and butt hurt. heck i've personally seen the baffles break free inside Flowmaster mufflers in more than one occasion, on road not even off road.

I even busted a Borla XR-1 muffler up off road, also CoB noted that the packing inside the muffler burnt away? of course it is a glorified glass pack, so is Borla or any other turbo type muffler. they all burn out and get louder, its just the nature of the beast.

i just purchased my first Magnaflow muffler recently, i normally buy Borla but $40 for a muffler is better than $150+ for a muffler and its even stainless steel to boot. i have a different part # than CoB but i have had my muffler for about 4 months now and logged close to 10,000 miles on it with no problems yet.

I still think your situation is non typical and apologize if I offended you. It's perfectly acceptable for you to be disgruntled but isolated incidents shouldn't be enough to steer someone else (not you) away from what may be a quality product.

This muffler I am running is my first experience with Magnaflow and I am very pleased. The price was right and initial quality seems to be on par with my much more expensive Borla muffler I had on my last vehicle.

Again I apologize if you thought I was attacking you.

I see this is a old thread but its the first time I read a muffler thread that someone was actually looking for a muffler without the deep throaty sound? After all' they are easy to find, just look for the posts where people are complaining about buying a new muffler they are dissatisfied with.

fwiw: Borla's sound is nothing like it used to be and thats why nobody buys them for that. In the day they really had a healthy sound but haven't in many years. Now they focus more on appearance for show cars more than sound and today that is what you're paying for. Their sound can be purchased for much less by most other muffler companies.
Most of the people I know who bought Borla exhaust bought them because they got tired of steel wooling/polishing their exhaust systems. Borla systems are higher quality metal and hold a shine better than anyone else in the business. :first:
