So do you think this system could be added without the wife knowing a difference? She never really gets on the gas, so I'm hoping she might not know the differnt and I could install it without no one the wiser. The 4Runner is our "family" car and I can't have it sounding like a monster truck, but the increased throttle response would sure be cool.

Disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few mins and reconnecting would force the ECU to learn from scratch wouldn't it?

Its actually my wifes,

however I just told her it owuld pay for itself after a few trips.

If you wife ever was to enter and on ramp or pull out in a hurry, it happens all the time, she would know. You wouldn't be able to slide it by her.

the wife will probably just think you got the oil changed, I drive my fathers cars more then him and I put new tires on, street racing directional tread, CAI, sway bars and my old man does not realize a thing, he drives like Mario Andretti so they don't go to waste on him but once in a while he'll be like I noticed I can take that exit ramp faster and I'll just be like yeah I lowered the air pressure just got to keep the washer fluid full so he does not pop the hood and see a CAI

Keep in mind that nothing is under warranty once you remove a stock part, unless it is approved by the dealer like a TRD part or installed by the dealer like a TRD part, but a K&N cold air intake can give the dealer any reason to say sorry your warranty is voided.

This is not true! A dealer can not denied you of your warranty if they can not prove that the parts you install cause the problem..

They can't deny you of your warranty but they sure as hell can make it harder, I use a dealer that is cool, the place I bought my truck from they think their shit don't stink

I don't see why any dealer wold make it harder on you? Is not like they 're doing it for free? They're still getting pay for the warranty work done from the manufacturer.:arrow:

The dealership I talk of has a line of people waiting for work to be done on cars, need to make an appointment, hows 3 weeks from today only timeslot we have is 6am, I show up at 6am and they finish at 1pm, I don't need that shit

The dealer I go to now is cool and works on my truck soon as I bring it

The marathon and trip to Prague is not until May 22nd, and I'm actually in Ft "Walton Beach right now for the next 6 weeks.

I'm training but I'm jet lagged right now

OK, Vandert - how'd you do in the marathon? And how's the 4Runner doing with Mobil1 and the K&N?

Marathon

Not so good, took me 6 hrs but I finished, I'm going to run Dublin this October or maybe the 3 country marathon but I'll aim for a 4:30 this time.

I trained for the wrong temp, it was 87 degrees on the marathon day and I had been running at 0500 and at night, so it was cooler. 26.2 miles is a long freakin way when its 87 degrees. Not to mention the course was cobblestone and hilly. I didn't forget anything in Prague and I won't be going back anytime soon, 5 days was enough for me.

As for the Runner, we are averaging 19.3 in the city with the filter and the oil. Its a GREAT improvement, still haven't did any highway driving oother than the 90+ mile an hour blast to work occasionally.

The milage change is exceptional between the two, I was hoping for 17-18 city but I'm seeing 19-20.

I will definately be getting the exhaust in the future as well just based on the Runners POSITIVE response to the intake mods. It can only get better with the exhaust.

Both mobile 1 and K&N get my nod

Oh yeah

My wife decided wisely to take the train as opposed to driving the Runner due to the simple fact that our insurance didn't cover us there, something about 3rd World Countries and theft, you know

I would have much rather taken the runner and cut the trip time in half, oh well, we'll be going to Luxenburg soon to visit Patten's gravesite and its a good little drive, might even try Normandy for D-Day celebrations, its a once in a lifetime experiance.

I have a K&N FIPK II on the way, may be able to install this weekend. Will seriously consider Mobil1 on the next change, probably after an upcoming road trip.

Comes back on at about 107 or so. Don't take the runner up there much, thats what my VW is for

I will definately keep running the Mobil 1 and Intake, nothing but smiles from me
