Hi all,
I have a 1998 limited auto, multi mode 4WD.
Had both rear axle seals and brakes done at a reputable Yota shop (2 master Toyota mechanics) on Monday.
Now I have an intermittent airbag light and the 4WD won't attempt to engage.
When I push the 4WD button to go into 4HI I can hear the 4WD computer in the drivers footwell click, but no light comes on and I don't hear it engage. There's suction at the VSV, but when I press 4WD the suction doesn't change sides. Furthering this, swapping the hoses to attempt to engage the 4WD doesn't actually engage it.
When I push the 4WD to go back to 2HI, the 4WD computer will buzz for 10 or 15 seconds.
There was a leak coming through the firewall grommet in the drivers footwell at one point, causing some rust on the floor and some of the wire connectors behind the kick panel are a little gummy but I don't know how I can clean them.
So has anyone heard of the 4WD computer making a buzzing noise?
