Multi Mode Issue????

So as many of you know around this place I have had a few 3rd Gens. So my 99 did something a few times that it has never done before. I have always been driving forward when I kicked the AWD in. Well not long ago I hit is as soon as I got into the truck and started to back out of the drive way. As soon as I started to turn to the left (and right) I felt this bind in the (what feels to be the Transfer Case) drive train. I can duplicate this almost every time when backing up. Well I have not done this anymore because I'm worried I'll break something. Note: If I'm going down the road at 35 or so it kicks in just fine and no issues at all. I'm thinking its me trying to break shit again,lol.

I'd avoid doing it too. Never had the need to engage 4wd in reverse. I leave mine in 4wd for days when at deer lease or offroading, no issues starting up that way or with engagement/disengagement.

I think the manual (and driver visor) tells you to put it in reverse Only when it doesn't want to stop blinking. Luck and enjoy. :cowboy:
