My '00 Millennium Silver SR5 Highlander

This is a sport, Highlander's are 1999 only.

Someone correct me if I'm off base, but I thought highlanders were 99's with the black plastic flares and 00+ with the hood scoops were sport editions. Do you have a locker?

I originally thought it was a sport, but going by the info posted here: http://top4runners.com/runhist/runhist32000.html it only talks about the Highlander package, and not the Sport. IDK for sure though. I don't have a factory rear locker.

i would suggest doing the drl mod otherwise your bulbs may burn out fairly quick. i cant remember if yours has drl or not but if it does i would

I definitely have DRL, I'm planning on doing the mod ASAP, along with a foglight rewire.

Hmm, I just read the factory brochure posted on that site, apparently it is a Sport lol

if its a 99 its the highlander package. same thing, but they just renamed it to the sport for 2000

I have the '99 brochure and it only has references to the Sport package but the Highlander name does appear on window stickers and other paperwork for both the '99 and '00 years. In '01 it was officially known as a Sport package and then for the last year we had a properly badged Sport Edition.

My insurance card refers to my truck as a Toyota 4Runner/Sport but those two years do represent the Highlander package right before Toyota used the name for it's younger sibling.

I installed the Eclipse unit tonight and it is SWEET. SQ is MUCH improved, and the BT handsfree is awesome. I'll post pics and a full review when I get a chance.

Installed my 265/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers today at work, along with some EBC Greenstuff pads and new rotors. I paid $471 for the Nittos through our distributor, and then sold my old tires for $250 Anyways, onto the pics!!

Can you change the lighting on the CD5030? I love Eclipse head units, and have the 4430 in my Tundra. The only thing I can find that will match the green illumination of the 4runner is the Kenwood and Pioneer units with selectable colors. Much prefer an Eclipse over those, but my 4430 and the 726 only has blue or red as the color options.

Eclipse has to get with the program. Kenwood and Pioneer's high end units have 4 or 5 color options to match the interior. Call me a perfectionist, but I just can't get over the obvious color mismatch - especially when dropping that kind of change on a HU.

Threw a fresh set of NGK & Denso plugs with some NGK wires in yesterday, and picked up a deck plate today. The Densos I pulled out were shot, so hopefully this will bring my gas mileage up a bit. I'll do the deck plate mod when I get some free time this week

I'm not sure of the mileage, but they were very worn. I just filled the tank this morning, so I'll post up again when it is on E. I was getting about 180-200mi (almost all city driving) from F to E, averaged out to about 14-15mpg :wow2:

I hope your mpgs improve! I'm currently getting 14 mpgs all city and am planning a spring tuneup. Hopefully the plugs are the culprit for us both.

It looks like things are starting to improve, though I do pretty much all city driving and have a bit of a lead foot We'll see how it averages out after a few tanks have been run through.

I bought the plugs and wires through work (I'm an assistant manager @ Midas) for about $40. Sorry, the Sport hood stays-- that's one of the reasons I bought this particular truck


And now for a very small update: I painted my front grille emblem flat black today. I've hated the gold badges since the day I bought the truck, and now I'm finally getting around to changing them. Normally I'd just debadge the rear, but at some point the hatch has been painted and cleared with the emblems still on. You can see the clear built up around them. I'm debating on paying a shop to remove the badges and fix this, or just going with a new set of factory black chrome badges.

Went to Gulches over the weekend and managed to get stuck about 5 minutes after getting into the park

Had to get my buddy Eric to winch me out, apparently the sign that said "Deep" wasn't lying

Spent a few hours pressure washing the truck on Sunday, and did the deckplate mod. I'll get some pics tomorrow if this stomach flu lets up.

I've settled on the SS 1.2 kit as my next mod, should have it here in a couple of weeks. We're planning a trip to Uwahrrie once the weather warms up and the park opens, so I'd like to be lifted and armored up a bit before then.
