hey guys,
i'm a convert from 4x4wire from long ago. i have since got a 3rd gen upgrade from a 2nd gen.

last night my small back triangle window got smashed. recovered some stuff thankfully, but not the most important stuff.

anyone have any experience replacing that window. i am hearing rumors this is the most expensive one to replace. anyone got a ballpark

my toyota guy is on vacation, but he texted me it might run over 200 bucks. any advice?

thanks!

You're talking about the small triangle glass in the rear door that doesn't roll up or down, not the paralellogram glass in the cargo area correct? If that's the case I think your Toyota guy might be thinking of something else. I just got a quote for $60 and another place quoted $37

BTW which side passenger or driver?

Oh and 4X4wire. Lots of great info and write ups on there! I dig it.

that window is actually pretty easy to replace.

roll down the window, and from the top of the window frame, pull the window run out of the door track, then pull out the sides, and finally pull it up out of the door.

then small triange window is only held in by another rubber molding, which can just be pulled out by hand

another problem is the rubber molding is gone too. can't believe they took it.

if you get the parts and need a hand, I'm out on Long Island...stop by

Thanks for the offer, but i got it before the rain. $90 toyota glass and rubber seal. not too bad for original parts. Did it in the Bronx. Thanks guys for the help.

they did that to mine when it belonged to my sister. they used the hitch to break the window and stole her fone, maxed out her credit cards which totaled to about 200 bux(i bet they were shittin that she was a poor college student) and 2 dollars out of her wallet. funny thing is, her purse was practically brand new, and its a 400 dollar purse. the fone cost her 80 bux to replace and all money but the 2 bux were replaced and the window was covered by insurance.... Folly Beach just aint what it used to be....
