I am so in love with this vehicle...more photo's of this adventure in the off road section...

When I was out there I wasn't thinking so much about the beauty of the 4runner as much as I was my surroundings, or I would have taken a lot more pictures of the truck, and better ones too. Hope you enjoy.

This is Bald Mountain...Shaver Lake/Dinky Creek area in the Central Sierra's above Clovis, CA just south of Yosemite, and just North of Kings Canyon.
 
No mods, just the BFG A/T KO's on the stock 17" wheels.

4lo center diff. locked for the hill climbs/descends, didn't use DAC. DAC makes a heck of a racket, scares me. 4hi the rest of the time. I don't think this trail is rated very hard. I'm still learning this stuff, so more challenges in store.

I originally wanted black. I've always had black cars. I sort of settled with the Galactic Grey because of availability. I'm glad I did. It hides the everyday dust and dirt well.

The V6 Sport Edition with 4wd was non negotiable.

Thank you all very much. I felt after getting home and looking at the pictures I could have done this or that to make them better. Your words are taken to heart and I appreciate it.

I'm pretty happy with the 10.5 inches I get with those tires on. I would consider a 2" lift when I can see that it's a no brainer with the XREAS.

when you did 4lo with center diff locked, were your tires spinning a lot? the reason i'm asking is because i recently went offroading but didn't have to use this going up or down hill. it might be my offroading wasn't as extreme. i thought we are only supposed to use 4lo when we are in snow or mud.
 
The tires gave me 1" more clearance when installed. I used a tape measure before, and after to see the difference. Went from 35.5 (I think that's what it was) to 36.5 from ground to bottom of fender center tire.

I locked up when climbing the hill with all the loose rock slabs. I wasn't sure how it was going to handle since it was a tester for me personally. Turned out that most of the large rocks were pretty stable. I'm sure I could have done it unlocked knowing what I know now.
 
Yep, oversize for the 4runner just a tad. The only time I get rub is when I apply the brake slightly when I have the wheel cranked. It doesn't really sound like the tires rubbing, but I haven't given it much thought since I rarely turn the wheel that far.
 
How noticeable is the rubbing? Because that's the size i'm going to get in either the BFG AT's or the Nitto Terra Grapplers.
 
Like I said, just a little noise when all the way cranked, and only when the brake is depressed while turning. Otherwise you there is no rubbing at all. I'm also not too sure it's the tires making the noise. I'll have to have someone there to check it out sometime.

So far the BFG's have been outstanding for what little off road stuff I've done. Highway noise is near nil, or I've gotten so use to it that I don't notice it anymore. This was a concern for me when looking for A/T tires. I'm happy with the BFG for sure.
