My 17' TRD Off Road Premium Build - Hippestguyever

I got the 4runner back! I went with the 2.5/1.5 lift with the 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers G2. The ride is definitely smooth and so far the MPG hit hasn't been felt yet. I'll do a write up once I put some more miles with the new setup but I'm very happy with how it turned out. The 285s are definitely a good fit for the lift and it fills out very nicely. I definitely needed a setup that can be a daily driver with off road capabilities and it this fit perfectly. I didn't add the wheel spacers yet but I will be installed the CAI this weekend. I'll take some more pics later today with a before and after installation but here's a preview!

[MENTION=171083]Hippestguyever[/MENTION] are you getting any rubbing from the subframe when in full lock in reverse? I got my 285 KO2s installed yesterday. I took off my mudflaps but now I noticed rubbing from the subframe ughh. but the truck does look a lot better now!

Yeah mine were rubbing on the fender liner, I just took off the bolts, pushed them forward them rebolted it back on (new holes) It fixed the full lock rubbing for me. How does yours look? Send a pic!

It's rubbing the subframe so I'll have to take it to a shop to shave off some of the frame or just live with it for now lol

The 285s look great!! Are you still using the wheel spacers? I didn't use mine after the 285. Yeah the shop who installed shaved off some of the front bumper. Definitely fix the rubbing!!

Dipped the rear emblems

Hey everyone I dipped the rear emblems. I didn't want to use the standard black dip so I opted for this gray one. It matches the front grill with the color contrast . It turned out awesome.

The dip has actually held up pretty good. It's been through pressure washes, rain, dirt etc. I actually use 303 Aerospace Protectant after i plastic dip anything. It's a good post dip product that does a decent job of keeping the plastic dip protected. I'll probably spray it down every 1-2 months.

I'm interested to know where you got your TRD Pro skid plate and front valiance set up. Did you order it through Toyota or elsewhere?

Have you thought about dipping or changing out the rear valance to match the front? I have the same truck in Magnetic Grey and I replaced both valances with the TRD Pro black ones. I couldn't stand the silver ones on there.

I actually ordered the skid plate on amazon, it was pretty comparable to the prices out there and i got it pretty fast.

For the front valence and grill, ebay seems to the cheapest place and you can easily do the install yourself (there's a few youtube videos)

Haha yeah that's definitely on my list, I dipped the front bumper and so far its held up pretty well especially with the 303 protectant. I'm going to dip the back soon once it's a little more sunshine down here.

Did you have to trim the TRD skid plate to fit with KDSS? Looks good!

Dip paint color

What is the specific color dip you used for the rear emblems? I’ve been thinking about spraying all the chrome emblems on my off road and yours turned out great!

Killer build man, just a few questions since im a little new to the whole lifting side of trucks. When you did the 6112, and the 5110, did you only replace the shocks or did you do springs as well? Also aren't the TRD wheels only 7 inches wide? did you have trouble finding a shop to mound the 285's on a 7inch wide wheel?

Yeah I had to cut the Skid plate to fit. I used one of the guides on the forum on where to cut. I used a dremel and it was pretty easy.
