And so the journey begins

Solid looking beads man, looks sharp and will hopefully keep her on the road a while longer. Probably performs better too having the shocks a little more outboard. Also makes it much easier to get that nut threaded on the top stud.

This. This is awesome. I love seeing outboarded shock mounts on our rigs. So much easier to work with when swapping shocks in and out.

I noticed a ride difference but can’t explain it. Inspection runs out today and I managed to set the readiness monitors with only local driving. My appointment is next Thursday.

So the inspection is done and I do like the ride difference. My Gabriel’s are a little on the firm side and it seems more controlled over shutter bumps.

I’m aware of the grease washout possibility. There is grease in the brake drum area but I can’t tell if it’s from the bearing or if it’s from the PO and used a liberal amount of brake grease. I’ll know soon enough. I have a spare to rebuild and the adapter tool for the press.

The seal riding at a different spot is good because I could just feel the ware line with my thumb nail.

Like I said I did this for inspection.

Well the seal is sealing and I have a dry brake drum for the first time since I bought this project.

Edit: it was a seal from napa.

Napa has decent aftermarket parts compared to must autobody store.:)

I got a timing belt kit from “The timing belt company” and the Toyota crank seal I seated with my thumb. Needless to say out it came and I went to napa for the cam and crank seals.

For timing belt etc. I mostly buy the kits the one ebay seller sales that's recommended on here. I have bought 3 so far. Zero issues with any on the seals. Always for perfectly and all parts were oem ans asin supplier. :)

The seals I put in the trash are OEM Toyota. Other than the seals, the company I used (three times now) with all koyo Asin and Toyota parts have been of high quality.

My drawer of leftover YotaShop Head Replacement kits. Three or four of them, I lost count…..

Anybody not using their kit when removing heads or rebuilding their engine is loosing out on a very exclusive kit.
