My 2006 4Runner has gone crazy...

I woke up this morning, went to the truck and found that the rear hatch window was down.

Tried to put it up using the interior button, no luck.
Verified the window lock was off.
Tried to put it up manually using the key in the rear hatch, no luck.

Drove to work with the windown down (and my ass freezing).

While at work, verified all fuses were OK.
Put key in iginition...without warning, the power door locks start opening and closing (10-15 times in quick succession).

Took key out, removed battery from key FOB and tried again. Same thing happens with the power locks.

Get out of the car, doors automatically lock. Try to open the driver door with my key, doesn't work.

I also noticed the rear defroster isn't coming on (though that may be tied to the window being down?).

My truck is crazy...any ideas what i could be dealing with here?

I'd try resetting the ECM by unplugging the battery for 15-30 min but other than that no clue... Good luck

edit- or maybe as a prank someone replaced your 4runner with theirs while they watch from afar and press buttons on their key fob to mess with you? not likely but possible

Man that is bad...no matter what happened. Unplug that battery!!!

Any update on this? Were you able to fix it or figure out what was happening?

May windows went down a few times, but it was quite a while before the panic alarm was going off. Replaced the remote battery, no problems since.

To be safe I'd still disconnect the battery for a bit. You don't want it to happen again when you're in a hurry or its snowing/raining out

Hi, I am a newbie onn this forum so please bear with me. But I have been searching the forum for some time to find someone with the exact same problem.

Unfortunately, I didnt see a solution from the poster. I sent a pm but no reply.

So please, if someone out there has any ideas out there, I would appreciate it. Again, its a 2005 Sport V8.
