Spring in NM has arrived. Snow, rain, and a lot of wind. I need to finish my fence and gates but weather like this is a good day for a cruise in the mountains. Today's little trip was on Horace Mesa which is at the foot of Mt Taylor and east of Grants. Also a little different, my wife drove all of it as she is rekindling an interest in going offroad. She's also planning on driving on some trails this summer in Ouray. I snapped a few pics while we were up there and the dust/snow wasn't blowing. Unfortunately, some of my pics are a garbled digital mess and I'm not sure what that's about.
Looking over Grants. Hard to tell from the pics but there is a sharp cliff just in front of us and some very strong wind gusts.
There's actually a small lake/pond on the mesa but unfortunately this is as close as we could get because it's now private property.

My wife and I finally found some time to take a little day trip to the mountains. We decided to take both 4runners this time. We joined a good friend of mine with his 2016 Tacoma and explored all over the Zuni Mountains. We found some of the coolest water falls I think I have ever come across out there. Unfortunately, there was very little water running over. Guess I need to go see these in the early spring when there is more runoff.
There was just a little bit of mud left but my wife was having fun anyway.

We returned from the FJ Summit a few days ago and I'm still going through a bunch of pics but here are some that I like.
Following [MENTION=127985]PeteC[/MENTION] down Black Bear Pass.
Had to give her a good bath yesterday. Pretty dirty inside and out. Plus she got some battle scars from Alpine Loop. I'll post those up later.

Thanks, I wish I could live there as well. I would probably pick Ouray over Telluride and I really like the Buena Vista and Salida areas as well.
Here's my 5th gen's battle scars from Alpine Loop.
Luckily, they don't seem too deep. Actually, I think it's just the plasti-dip that is scraped so that's an easy fix.
The RCI skids did their job.

Backing up in time a little bit to update my 5th gen's progess, I installed a Midland handheld CB radio and Wilson Lil' Wil antenna. The install was pretty simple and it works pretty good as well.
The Lil' Wil antenna sits center on the roof just behind the rear cross bar. Zip-tied the cable the cross bar and melted the ends so they are not sharp.
Ran the coax down the rear door sill and through the tail light housing opening.
Ran the coax up front into the glove box. I had to make an extension from another coax cable I already had, 16' just wasn't enough. This handheld Midland offers a really quick setup because it just uses the power point/cig lighter plug.
I picked up this mic holder from the local truck stop. I peeled the lame double sided tape it came with and replaced it with 3M VHB tape.
This Midland radio only comes with a belt loop clip. I used a rubber T-nut, washer, and a very small screw that was the same thread pitch as the screws holding on the belt clip.

The only complaint about them is that the center caps fit so tight on the hubs that it's really a press fit which means every time you rotate the tires, the wheel slides over the cap which scratches the hell out of it. Those scratches also make the paint peel off the caps very easily and unfortunately, Procomp's warranty does not cover the caps. I'm running the cheap caps from Summit Racing and they fit the hubs a lot better so they come off with the wheel and they don't seem to scratch as easy. I'm actually thinking of getting some SCS wheels to replace these Procomps.
That sounds fantastic! I've found that powder coating the stocks also looks great and is surprisingly durable for the price compared to new wheelies

It's aluminum, very light but this thing is stout!

Thanks! Hoping to wrap it up today and get some better pictures.
I actually had to take a couple steps back this morning and unbolt the left side of the bumper, pull it out and elongate the holes in the bumper so it could drop down to give the left headlight some room. It was right up against it and it squeaked like hell. The only problem is that Pelfreybilt doesn't leave a lot of metal to work with so I had to go a little at a time but I finally have about 1/4" gap at the bottom of the headlights.
So really I just need to finish wiring the LED bar and aim the LEDs as of right now, oh, and install the winch whenever it gets here.
