:welcome: to T4R.ORG. Since this is your first post. I would recommend that if when you replace your plugs, especially because of your symptoms, that you should always replace your plug wires as well. They are not only cheap, but a good insurance against the sort of thing you are experiencing. In other words, one less item you can cross off the list when trying to diagnose a problem. Sometimes if it's not the plugs/wires, or maf, It could be Fuel related such as the fuel filter...

^ True, Even though sometimes even hesitations like that wont throw codes, as I am assuming since he didn't mention he had a CEL.

My first thought was spark plugs, but you said you changed them. What type did you through in there? Dual electrodes? Did you gap them properly, if they weren't pre-gapped (always good to check anyways).
Have you ever changed the fuel filter?
It could be so clogged, that when the engine is trying to get more fuel, it can't flow through it fast enough.
Same thing with dirty injectors.
My mechanic only charges $80-90 to diagnose vehicles. If you can't get it figured out, just take it somewhere, have them tell you what's wrong, and then decide if you want to do the fix yourself or not.

Did it start around the time you bought gas because it may be bad fuel.

my 2000 sr5 is doing this exact same thing, i have a new fuel filter and plugs ready to go in, I'll get some new wires, when i do the work this weekend, anything else that we are missing? I don't have an engine light on, however i know that i have a small exhaust leak after the cat (at the flange). any input would be awesome!

Mine did the similar stuff, but it ended up going away when I did plugs and wires. Same advice as everyone else, don't cheap on these parts. OEM wires were ~ $20 more and plugs were basically the same price. My old wires on my '99 were from '08, and honestly I doubt they needed to be replaced, I was just baselining everything. OEM wires I just changed on my wife's 80 series were from '93! $20 over 17 years = a little over a dollar a year for good quality parts.
