few days ago on my big day, i was just planning to go to joy ride in the bimmer 3 series and want to see if that's the car both me and wife want to be the replacement of my 06 TL.

surprisingly wife loves the ride on it way more than the TL, and since i've been lurking on that dealer's website for a few weeks and wife's caught me numerous time "drooling" to my monitor. so wife did the best decision, allowed me to let go the TL and bring a E90 home :)
i say that's my most unforgettable big day gift from wife!!!!!!

i'm sure i'll miss my TL a lot, it was a great fun car!

Very nice buy!!! Yeah, the 335i is tops in its class IMHO. Quick Q...did you consider the 335d?? One of these days, i need to testdrive the 335i/d...but i am afraid that i may take one home.... :(
 
MikesToy: look carefully, its a trick there, the letters sequence is different :) yea i know a lot of people thought they are the same plate at the first glance. but it is unique to me, on the 4R i put wife's initial first then mine, the other vehicle is the other way around, so that makes the illusion.

Thai: i may, if gasoline price continuously jumping up to $6+ per gallon. well, in that case, diesel fuel might have the same effect as well, but just not as much as gasoline....
you know what Thai, honestly, i would say you may want to hold back and don't go to test drive one anytime soon yet. as i know you have some nice euro as alternative vehicles, the feel of the 335i is nothing i can type in writing. but i'm sure you will love it!
at first i dont buy the BMW's "ultimate driving machine" crap, i thought it's all advertising gimmick. but man, i think that slogan is no joke. jumped from an Acura TL, IT IS a totally different driving experience. the almost 50/50 weight distribution ratio on the bimmer is excellent. the steering feedback is night and day compare to the TL.
that inline 6 tt even tho rated at 300hp, sounds it might be a gas guzzler, but surprisingly no. i compared two of them in same driving habit, TL always got me about 16mpg, versus the 335i so far gets me 20+mpg.... crazy huh?
the first turbo kicks in so early (1500rpm) so you dont really have to floor it at any rpm range to get it goes. IF you get on the gas paddle, that full 300 lb tq is just gonna sucks you in the back of the seat all the way to ~6000 rpm.
i think the 335i is the right choice to move on from the TL :)

Yup, the 335i is a monster...a sleeper of sort. You're making MORE power than my old BMW M3 (with 333 hp I6). I think that your 335i is just as fast or even faster than my old M3...that is just mindblowing that a "regular" 3-series can run with an M3 just a few years ago...BMW raised the bar with the 335i.

Enjoy your new car...you will love it! Did you get any options?? auto vs. manual vs. SMG??

I'm so glad you got rid of the TL...you know my feelings about the Honda/Acura V6 Auto.
 
Thai: mine has the steptronic (deng it, BMW leaves the DCT to the M3 only), premium pkg, sport pkg, navi, aluminum trim, so pretty much it is loaded except the parking sensor device, comfort access and the headlight washers.
on the paper spec, testing numbers are pretty similar from magazine A to magazine B, according to Car and Driver, this little monster inline 6 tt can do 0-60 in 4.9sec and 13.5 in quarter mile. some bimmer folks did a ECU flash/re-map on a piggyback device, result as 0-60 in 4.1 and 12.8 in 1/4 mile.

i am not ready for that yet, since mine is a CPO, it already covers me for almost 4 more yrs/100k warranty, same as the cost free maint. program :)
i wouldn't be stupid enough to void these benefit and set back myself a huge maint. invoice everytime i go back for service. i'll rather wait til all my warranty expires first before i'm gonna do anything to it. most likely a piggyback flash is the only thing i would do.


K.C: yea, my house is finally done, last month i did the mosaic glass tile backsplash in the kitchen, and that's pretty much the last thing i've done. i don't think i'll do any more renovation in this year. and no, i didn't buy any new lens, these pics were taken by just the regular 18-55 lens on my nikon. nothing special.
 
Congrats, looks real nice..........yeah my father-in-law just traded in his old m3 for an 09 m3, man that 414 hp 4.0 V8 is pretty nice, that thing goes, I didn't even think they could make it any faster.....my sister has a 328, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law have the 335 as well, so BMW is doing something right..... :bigok:
 
what a baller, i wish i got a bmw, a m3 sounds nice, but the m6 for the hell of it if i won the lotto. very nice car btw, also hows the hids? compared to the tl and the s2000 retro?

no comparison......... :(

those HID projectors on MB, BMW are known to be sucks and rank pretty low.... narrow beam , lack of intensity are they famous for :)
intensity is 10 times worse than those on my TL, not to mention the width is just shame to compare to those S2K retro on my 4R :( almost half of the total width, the night when i took it home from dealership, i was like :jaw drop: "where is the width?????????"

but i have to give a thumb up on the adaptive lighting system, when i turn my steering wheel, the headlights swivel toward the direction i am turning, that's a big plus!
 
That is a great looking BMW. Good luck with it. Just curious, how did the BMW compare to the redesigned TL?
 
eskimochaos: i think i'll pass on that freaking $1500 15 mins Dinan Stage 1 ECU flash, that's just not worth to me yet.... beside there's not much V8 M3 in my area yet, so i'm safe, :)

Nice Eric. My friend bought a fully loaded 335i last year coming from a '03 Mustang GT. He says he never thought he would be having that much fun in a sedan, along with the comfort that did not exist in the GT.

nice 5, i was thinking a 535 too, its roomy and comfy. but too bad wife doesn't really appreciate the tail-light design :mad:

so ended up i'm with a "M3wannabe", LOL
 
Thanks! lol. The tail lights grew on me eventually. I still can't stop looking at the LED turn signals on the E60 and also the LCI on the tail lights hehe. It's only a 528i and this will sound like a really dumb decision. The day we got it, we were trying to avail of a 09 clearance sale so the choices were...

1. 528i Space Gray Metallic with Premium Package only
2. 535i Space Gray Metallic with Navi only

The verdict boiled down to the 528i because of the freakin Homelink! lol. I don't think it would be easy to change the rear view mirror on a BMW considering that it's not only auto-dimming but it also contains the blinking alarm light for the alarm system lol. We NEED the homelink because I need to open a gate and a garage door, which would mean carrying around 2 clickers! It looks too cluttery so Homelink is a MUST for us nowadays. On my CRV I plan on changing the rear view mirror to an auto-dimming one with Homelink just to clear out the remotes I have in that car hehe :lmao:

Otherwise I would prefer the 535i w/o Premium Package because that means it would only have leatherette seating and it doesn't require much attention like real leather. But to get the homelink you need to get the Dakota leather seats so yea it was a pretty interesting decision I would say haha.

Either way enjoy the E90! :)

If you decide to join a BMW forum, just make sure you control your anger because they really criticize any non-BMW car out there.
