My 4R Arrives at the Dealership Tonight!

Just talked with the salesman, and my new 4R is supposed to arrive at the dealer tonight.

Looks like I'll have it by Wednesday! I can't wait.

I might even swing by the dealership tonight to see if I can check it out ahead of time.

Have you checked your dealer's website? What does it show?

Toyota.com and my dealer's website show my truck to be "in stock", yet my salesman says it hasn't arrived yet. He said it is on a transport truck heading from Houston.

There are two in the Houston area that are close to mine, but neither appear to be my vehicle. I am doubtful that it will ever appear in the inventory since I special ordered mine and it was flagged as mine before it even got off the boat. I could be wrong, though.

just as you say, the 4runner was supposed to be tagged as mine while it was still on the boat....that's why the fact is shows up available and in stock scares me. I may have a friend call the dealership and request a quote to see if they still plan on having it for sale.

I would do the following before driving your new truck off the dealer's lot:

- Check all fluid levels

- Check tire pressures

- Check lug nut torque

Our current 4Runner had tire pressures varying from 25 to 55 psi when delivered. What I missed was that the roof rack crossbar "thumbscrews" were less than finger-tight. Two fell off and were lost on the way home! Expect the worst from your dealer: Treat the delivery process as a learning experience, and you and the truck will be the better for it!
