My 4Runner dyno

Well for ****s and giggles heres my dyno run. My friends and I were testing a product. For clarity we did 3 pulls before the product then 2 pulls with it and we had to start the pulls from 3500 rpm sense my truck was auto. The funny part was at first the guys at powerfab were worried my truck would hit the speed limiter since we wanted to pull in 4th gear and he was judging by the speedometer that he was gonna peg it. I replied I know just do it I peg it all the time. I thought that was funny. Anyway here are pics and vids the dyno posted is mine and has the best before the product and the best after pull (again for clarity) My best numbers with SAE correction was 227 WHP and 291 TQ. The blue Xrunner is one of my friends and made 342 whp and 360 tq.

That is a kabota turbo, it can fit in your hand. I was really, really, close to buying it just because but it wasn't for sale.

12 piston calipers

After all this, since I was in houston with a bunch of good friends we hit up the pz meet.

I got a AFE intake, long tube headers, APR X1 custom tuned be me, URD fuel pump, IKH20 plugs, and the NST intake manifold spacer (this is the product that was under testing). Thats it and this is with the 1GR.

Well that is a rather disappointing amount of power (I drive a v6 also so don't take offense to this). No wonder I find my moms GX so much nicer to drive, though I don't know how much power it has to the wheels, sure feels like a hell of a lot more than my v6.

For headers, tune, exhaust and intake that is not bad at all considering it is rated at around 240 HP at the CRANK.

I don't think its bad at all. FYI the y pipe and catback are STOCK.... I could be in the 13's with a LSD and a valve body upgrade on street tires. So far I can trap a 2.0 second 60ft on my truck running a 14.3 in the 1/4 on the current set up not bad for a 4500 lb suv with an open diff. So far I'm pleased. You also must remember that these pulls were made at least halfway into the powerband (started at 3500 rpm)

14.3 in a 4runner is pretty quick IMO. I want to say that the v8 was clocked in the mid 15s in car and driver and MT.

Guys I know its "not bad". I was just using that as a comparison to what my friends drive. I know it isn't much to compare to since they have 4-banger honda's and they like going straight. I like big engines and dirt.

looks like we need to find a way to get the taco TRD supercharger mounted on the 4runners..I am curious to know if the tacoma and 4runner ecu use the same shift points and all for the autos. Since toyota does the reflash for the tacos. That would obviously be the easiest method for controlling the a/f. Otherwise it would have to be a piggyback ecu, afpr, or extra injector..

Almost 240 to the wheels not bad, I use to be into cars civics rx7 vw's evo. The weight of the 4runner stinks but what are ya going to do. Funny story my fj feels sluggish since it has the new 2011 motor and bigger tires. I seriously jumped in my moms Honda crv and it felt so peppy compared lol, oh how my life's changed.

Urd makes a supercharger specificly for the v6 4th gen

yeah my truck is 2wd. Good for sideways action.
If you wanted to see if the TRD reflash works I would suggest using an FJ one, you'll use the FJ fit kit anyway. Reason why I say this is because the actuators on the VVTi are different from USDM motors, tacoma and tundra, than from JDM ones from the 4Runner, FJ, hilux, etc. But I would go for a piggyback or a standalone as the TRD flash isn't really the best.

I'm interested in the spacer, also been interested in the UCONN, engine
Managment know anything about it? For me I'd be content with 240 to the ground

what you wanna know? For most I tell people to go with the URD maf cal as its cheap and a quality product with fantastic customer support. If you want the most then your gonna spend alot. If your willing to spend that much the URD UCON or pro efi 48 or 128 is what I would go for now. But before any of that I would get the URD fuel pump as fueling is a top priority.

Cool I was hell bent on getting a supercharged so I was looking into the x1, but they discontinued it and just recently came out with the UCON. But now if I could get away with an afe intake 2.5 inch exhaust with resonator and the maff calibrator and whatever else I'd need to fill that last bit of hp I'd be happy sigh that.
