My 4Runner Mods/Fixes - 1 Month after Purchase - TYVM T4R.ORG

I purchased a 2007 4Runner in March 2011 with 60,000 km. It is the V8 Limited Model with XREAS and Height Control.

Thanks to all the folks who have posted in this forum. It has made all the difference in getting the fixes and mods that I wanted done efficiently and enjoyably.

It has been a busy month getting the truck "up to snuff" and enjoyable to drive!! I am trying to keep all mods indistinguishable from stock to the untrained eye...really just making it how I think it should have looked from the factory. Unfortunately this means wheel spacers and lift spacers - not the best components for the purist...

Here is a list of the major items that I have completed:

1). New Tires = Bridgestone Revo2 265/65/18.
2). New Lexus GX470 propeller shaft to eliminate clunk.
3). New Catalytic Converters to reduce sulfur odour (TSB).
3). Cornfed 1/2" front spacer for 1" front lift.
4). Spidertrax 1.25" Spacers.
5). HCF removed.
6). Yakima Fat Cat Rack installed.

Your car looks identical to mine! I am very interested in that Lexus propeller shaft swap. Could you tell me how you went about this? Dealer etc... did you get a core refund?

The propeller shaft was $260 from local Lexus dealer and 1/2 hour install at Toyota. This is the best mod I have made.

I paid myself. I did not ask dealer for reimbursement...probably should have but it just didn't seem worth the hassle and time.

Did you have to pay for the catalytic convertor replacement? If so, how much. I get a bad sulfur smell if I have the sunroof open and the rear window cracked for my dog. It comes when I give it a little punch. Horrible!

Well done, love the look! That pretty much confirms that I will be getting those same size tires when I'm ready. Our setup is similar, except I did the 1" Daystar leveling kit and put the 1.5" spacers on. Will definitely be getting the 265/65/18's though, thanks for that pic!

I did not have to pay for the new catalytic converters. It is covered via a TSB for up to 130,000 km or 8 yrs under the emission system warranty

Sweet looking ride! Sounds like some nice "peace of mind" mod's as well.

Did you buy used from a dealer? So this can be transferred? (I just bought an '06 and am just curious as to if I would be covered under similar scenario's "if" something were to go wrong).

I bought it privately, but the warranty was fully transferrable.
