My 4runner seems to be losing gas too quickly..

I have driven like 115 miles this tank and usually that leaves me with a little under half a tank, right now I am quarter tank from that. If anyone has had this problem, or seen it, what is the most common thing that is wrong that i need to fix?

I am worried Because i also just had to replace some wire near my coils that got clipped that was causing me to stall out and it still feels like i am losing a bit of power.

I don't like my 4runner falling apart! especially when im a broke college kid!

But yeah if anyone knows what might be wrong and why i am losing gas, please help and thankyou

I would fill up the tank to see if your really using more gas or if its just a faulty fuel gauge reading .

it isnt faulty because it did it last tank too

I believe its my air to fuel ratio is too rich and sending too much fuel. I am going to get an oil change at toyota soon and ask them too look at it for me.

Would anyone agree with me that this is probably the problem?

You've asked a really big question without providing much information. Is there any reason your check engine light (CEL) isn't on - perhaps it's burnt out? I doubt that it's just running rich, but that is a possibility. Regardless, it's hard to say where to start your investigation. It sound to me like the best bet is to bring it to the dealer or a mechanic you can trust and ask them to check it out. Could be something as simple as a brake dragging or something more complex

front o2 sensor would be my first guess.

don't start throwing parts at it, start with the small items.

Are you driving this to and from campus like in-town driving? 115 miles/ over half tank sounds like me driving around my home town running erunds for a week. Around 10 mpg? Snds normal to me.

That's about what I'm getting around town. But then again I'm lifted and lugging around some heavy ass 35" Toyo MT tires.

i usually get 14 to 15 in the city and atleast 18 on the hwy and i got 16 on the hwy the other day
