IMO I think that would make your truck look awesome, even though it already looks awesome anyways.:guitar2:

Small but noticeable difference

By any chance before mounting it, did you hold the snorkel up to your dads 5th gen to see how it would look? Many of us 5g owners are waiting on a snorkel.

No I didnt. The A Piller is much more straight on the 5th, so it wouldnt have lined up as well. Im sure there is a random snorkel that would fit it. Your going to have to look at different Vehicle A Pillars that the Snorkel IS made for. And compare them to the 5th Gen.

I agree. Its just I dont want to leave it at the paint place for two days while it gets done. Mabye I can find a mobile place to do it.

Where did you get the hood? Is it OEM or aftermarket? Looks good.

The hood is aftermarket but it fits just like OEM. I got it on EBAY prepainted. The seller has a list of 4runner paint codes to choose from. I think it was like 550 delivered.

the tyre carrier and the snorkel mods are off the hook!...damn, how much does each cost?

Snorkel is like 400 the tire carrier is about 2,000-2,300 depending on options.

I demand functional snorkle pics. Go drive that thing through your swimming pool, pleeeeease.

Edit: Oh, and that thing is sick, son.

Thanks! The swimming pool will come good time haha. I still need to make the connection to the stock airbox. Theres about 2 feet of hose needed to do so. Im going to the hardware store today to see if they have anything. Ill keep everyone updated!

Can we see what it looks like from the inside of the engine compartment? I'm really wanting to order a snorkel now.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Alright I decided to hook it all up today. The space was Too tight to fit the tubing so I had to grid some of the body away. luckily it was additional thin body metal that was riveted to the engine bay body. No idea what purpose it serves. It got me an extra 2 inches so everything went on great. I was going to keep the stock air connector thing that is attached to the fender, but It turns out that it looks like a scoop on the other side so it wouldn't seal properly. So I just ran the tubing into the engine bay and attached it to the intake hose.

:thanks:

It wasn't easy. Connecting the hose was a bigger PITA than installing the snorkel. All my knuckles are bleeding haha.

At least its done.....:)

SWEET! CLEAN JOB MAN! What's that thing in the back passenger side by the firewall? Is that a compressor?

How does it "run" after the setup? Any acceleration lag? Or no difference?

Maybe you'll get "ram-air" at highway speeds? idk

Ya its an ARB Air Compressor.

Its Runs well. Def better throttle response.

Def better throttle response.

you will probably get better gas mileage too! at least that is what im telling myself so I can justify buying one. :biggrin2:

good choice on the snorkel model. Looks much better than some I've seen on 4th gens.

They are a good idea when doing water crossings, but when you rip it off on a tree trying to get there it doesn't seem that good of an idea. The marlin crawler sticker is there for a reason:
