That looks like an underground pipe system coming from the pool where you can clean the pool without using an external hose to dump water. Dammnit, I live in a house that was built back in the 80's (yay plantation-style homes in VA) and I'm stuck with a set of blue plastic hoses where I have to unroll it and extend the hose to the street from the pool itself. Oh, I have to roll it all back together when I'm done with it too! Solid whip though, so fresh.

Looks very good! You'll find that your air filter stays cleaner longer as another benefit particularly if you're running in some dusty trails and have the misfortune of not being the leader. Pulling in air from roof level is much nicer than grill level.

Looks like he still is using the OE filter set-up. He just removed the Plastic D thing near the fender.

But what about the 2nd gen Tacoma snorkel? Snorkel for 2005+ Tacoma S016

My other thought was a Surf snorkel

With no one stateside making them for the 4runner I think we could get a run made if enough were interested.

Many people install snorkels for driving in dusty conditions. They are very common in Australia. If they are properly sealed they can help with water crossings.

I think you could use the surf one, but the fender angle is slightly different. You will probably need to fish some hose in the fender for the intake to line up properly.
