just wanted to throw up a few pics of the progress over the past few days, nothing to exciteing but progress none the less.

really hoping to have it in primer before I have to head back to work in a few days, not sure Im going to be able to make that happen but thats the goal any way. thanks for checking in you interest meen a lot.

decided to take a break from the filler work and work on the tailgate some there are a couple dents that needed worked out and the striped so that was my project for the day.
my methods for some of this are kind of crude I addmit but I dont want to spend a bunch of money on body tools that I dont like to use.

welded a couple small nails in the lowest part of the dent in lew of a stud gun.

a pair of vice grips and a hammer because I dont own a slide hammer.

grind the nails off when finished.

Like I said kind of crude but it works I pulled a few dents this way, the gate is ready to be stripped and body worked out.
I also started welding the holes shut that I drilled for the latch and arms for the pickup tail gate but ran out of wire.

Time for an update

As you can see it painted. I'm really happy with how it turned out there are still a few flaws that were missed but after what seemed like endless body work its as good as I could get it.
I picked up a set of seats out of another runner as well as the carpet and a few other interior pieces but I still didn't have a good set of door panels so I decided to try my hand at upholstery work.

Over the past month or so I have just been driving it on short trips trying to work the bugs out, its running great need to get bumpers built and some new tires but I'm just glad to have it back on the road. Thanks for checking in.

I like the look to, the only reason I tinted them is because my lenses were so faded you could tell they were red with the brake lights on.

Thank you, its been a long learning experience but I'm glad I did it, now its time to get things like the a/c working and just make a nice truck out of it.

Haven't done much with the runner in a while, i was driving it preaty regular for awhile and it developed a miss, i figured it was in the injector harness so i dug into that and fixed all the factory crimp connectors, when that didnt fix it I dug a bit deeper and discovered 2 clogged injectors cleaned them up and reinstalled them and it ran great for about 20 minutes and then right back to missing. I had added a bottle of injectors cleaner to it not long before this started so I assume the disovled a bunch of junk in he fuel system and pluged the injectors.
I have had my 97 in my shop for a good while doing a lot of work to it and couldnt get to his one until about a week ago, droped the tank out and im soaking it in cleaner. I have to pull he injectors again and clean them up but Im hoping to have it back on the road soon.
While Ive been waiting on ne tank cleaner to do its thing I have also been freshening up the interior a bit, repaired and painted the dash pad, cleaned and painted the rest of the dash, picked a new gauge bezel to put around tne sr5 cluster I installed.
