My first offroad experience.

Well first off I would like to thank Pikeman for his company. Friday after work Pikeman called me and ask me if I wanted to go wheeling with him this weekend, I said sure let's do it on Saturday. I had talk to him and told him that I have never been offroad ever! So pikeman wanted to try cleghorn which he has never done before. Great, what is easy for him might be hard for me was my thought that day, oh well I packed my truck and was anxious for Saturday to be here. Let's just say I am hooked!! I can't wait to go out again and have my 4runner on two wheels. I have to admit there were a few times in which I felt a bit nervous. I hope you enjoy the pictures and would post our next wheeling date or meet. Thanks for looking.

Yeah had a good time, Pikeman was really cool and was very helpful in the way I should approach the lines. Can't wait to go out again.
 
great pix, thankx for sharing.. all it took for me was one time wheeling, and I has "hooked" wheeling is my crack, and wheeling pictures are my porn :biggrin2:
 
Thanks Ric! It is because of the many beautiful pictures that you have posted that has inspired many of us no b.s. In one of my post I stated how I envy you for going offroading all the time, I don't blame you. I could see how this sport, hobby, passion, call it what you want can be so addicting. I am already trying to plan another trip somewhere. So I would keep you guys posted and of course lots of pics!

Nice looks like you had fun, all i get to do is mud bogging, but you bought that ARB (or TJM or etc.) front bumper before you started offroading?
 
Next time will hit up Big Bear to get5 some forrest shots in the background. Cleghorn was described in many books as an Easy trail with some moderate off shoots. I can tell you now that the main trail is Easy with some difficult off shoots. With 18+" rock steps on a steep decline inside of a narrow shute with 5-6' high walls just wider then our trucks and usually off camber leaning you towards one wall or the other. I don't like the thought of any damage to my veicle but am willing to deal with it if I have to but do not want to put anyone in those situations, especially not a first time off roader. Proud did a great job and did just as good a job at hiding his panic in parts of the trail as I did...LOL Was a great day and hope to go again soon.
 
Hey guys thanks for your compliments it was a great time. I have the tjm bumper I did not hit anything with it, but felt confident that I had it. Kellogg your more than welcome to join us next time out, will stay in touch with Pikeman to post other runs.
 
Consider yourself done :lmao: I went once with ric and I was at Toytec the next day buying my lift, then came the tires, just did the body lift yesterday, and some other mods. Hold on to that wallet of yours! :lmao:

He did it slight reverse order, he already had the Toytec lift and has a front bumper, now he will be getting the tires to match, he is definitely hooked
 
Cleghorn is a good place for a begginer,but it does have its scary parts,like the one they call cleghammer
