My First Post.. No Mo Chrome | Long Wknd

Thought I would post up a few pics from my wknd. After browsing around here for a few months, I couldn't find a picture of a white t4r with blacked out wheels/chrome so I decided to jump in the fun.

I started out planning on using the vinyl to wrap my fog light inserts and see how that worked, then it turned into wrapping the front lower trim strip, then I had an extra can of plasti dip from another project and sprayed my front grill/emblem. After that, I couldn't stop, so i went to home depot and bought 4 more cans of plasti dip, prepped my wheels and starting spraying.

I'm in the process of finishing up the last 2 wheels (only had 2 jack stands so I had to do 2 @ time). Here's where what I got so far:

Looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man every time I see a blizzard pearl I get jealous. Such a great color!

What are your plans for hte door handles, sideskirt chrome, and tailgate garnish? Looks excellent so far!

Very nice! I just hate the stock grills on our 4Rs, and this sure helps. I'd love to do the Grillcraft mod, but afraid that is just over my head.

Thanks guys! Just got done putting the wheels back on, so here's one last pic for the night.

Plans for the rest of the chrome is going to be plasti dip. I could wrap it with the vinyl, but the plasti dip works so well, I think I will just go that route. I tried wrapping my front garnish and failed horribly, I couldn't keep all the wrinkles out, so that's why I switched to plasti dip.

@azn-sensation - the bumper trim is wrapped with this stuff (3M Scotchprint Series 1080 M12 Matte Black Vinyl Wrap) , per a recommendation from someone on this forum, and it works great. I didn't actually take the strip off the bumper to apply because I was too lazy, but I will probably do it right eventually when I have the time.

Camera - Canon T2i w/50mm 1.8 lens. I shot this below image in complete darkness @ about 20sec and had plenty of light.

That looks f'in amazing. Who'd a thunk a BP blacked out would look so freakin' good.

Thanks for making me want a different color now. DAMN YOU!

The pic looks eerily cool as well. That's a bad ass camera apparantly. lol

Ya know, instead of debadging it you should see what it looks like with a black SR5 emblem.

Thanks for the link! This is one of the things I'd like to do to the truck. I really dont want to have to pull the bumper or rockers off cause ive got my light bar and sliders in the way.

Man that looks really good. Keep going!!

I think a blacked out SR5 badge would look good too.

Looks beautiful!!! I wish I knew about plasti dip before I painted my wheelS...
Thanks to adio3x, now I know that plasti dip is awesome stuff)))

Not sure how I feel about the black wheels (I have a BP LTD as well, and have been contemplating). It almost makes the T4R look run down on the BP background.......looks awesome on Charcoal/Black, but not feeling it on the BP. I think a gloss black may change my mind, but thanks for sharing your wheels with us. Also good to have someone else be the guinea pig

I was thinking about a gloss too but the plastidip is very cool because it's removable! I wanted the flat black look for mine but I've read some ppl spraying a clear coat gloss finisher on it.
