Did someone slash your tires? The third pic, the one of the wheel on its own looks like the side wall is cut bad.

Looks great, I really like it. I didn't know plastic dip was in a spray also. Great to know. I've always used it on my RC planes and boats.
I think that is the tape for overspray.

Here ya go! I got my windows tinted today 5% on fronts, 20% on everything else.
In regards to making the BP look 'run down', I will admit I was skeptical myself of blacking out the rims for that exact reason, but now that i've done it - I LOVE IT. This thing looks mean, and before, it looked more like a soccer mom vehicle. To each his own I suppose.
@mikey's2010SR5 - my tires did not get slashed, it put blue painters tape around the rim edge to create a separation line so i could peel it back away from the tire, so the tape, and a bit of overspray dip is all you see on the tires.

Thanks Stillentt for being the guinea pig for us BP owners. Started work on mine today. I wanted to try something a little different and make everything black except the "T" emblem, which I wanted to make BP. The guy at the service counter talked me out of buying the paint as it would be very hard to replicate, especially on plastic. Oh well, all black is good too!

My buddy was telling me since plasti dip peels off people just tape off the whole section they are interested in and then just take a toothpick to it. I've been wanting to try it but haven't gotten around to it. Those rear emblems are the only chrome i have left.
Here is some basic instructions from another thread, I forgot to copy the original posters ID, but he will recognize it I am sure. I am adding my own instructions below his.
Pull the little square cover in the door panel and then swiftly pull outward. The door panel is only held on with push pins. Then you'll have to unplug the interior lights, pull the plastic sheet that's stuck on with dum gum, and unbolt the 4 10mm nuts that hold the garnish. Also the nuts for the lock. And be careful when pulling up in the area of the oval Toyota emblem. There is a weird looking clip that you can’t to from underneath, but with a little work, it will come up.
The emblem he spoke about above is a bit of a bear the first time it comes off. I had to take a plastic wedge and place in between the bottom of the plastic and the door metal and work it around the emblem until it finally "gave". Be aware one of those 4 10mm nuts is fairly well hidden pretty far on the drivers side of the door. There is a rubber plug used for access. I was able to pull the plastic cover back stretching the black gooey stuff enough to cut the gooey stuff with a box cutter, saving the plastic sheet. Then it was simple to replace the plastic. I would NOT remove the whole sheet, no need. The OP of the instructions above said to unplug the lights. That can be done pretty easy. Others have said to pop out the whole light unit from the door. Either way, fairly easy to take off. The plug for the door lock is a bit harder, just work at it, it will come.
Warning, do NOT close the rear hatch until you remount and plug in the door lock mechanism! Our rear hatch is full electric locking mechanism.

Awesome F-ing job on your Runner. I have been wanting to do something like that, my Runner is blue, then I can say I beat her black and blue.:whipping2 Just wanted to know. How durable is that plasti dip?

I can't speak to the long term durability of the plasti dip as I've only had it mine for a few weeks now, however, I did have it on my truck for over a year on my front toyota emblem with ZERO issues. I ran my truck through the automatic carwash every 2 weeks and never had any peeling.

Great job, Stillen! Did you take off, then reattach the letters and emblem, or did you just paint the whole piece intact?

Looks cool, but I still prefer the chrome look for now. I guess it's from my Harley days. Here's another picture of a white rig I bought recently. 2008 with 32,000. I just undercoated the whole rig, put on the hood guard, window gutters, and Chrome SS Nerf bars. I am loving my choice of a 4Runner as our 2nd vehicle. Picture was taken with a Sony A100.

Painted it all together. You really need to put several coats of plasti dip on anyways, so as long as you get good coverage there's no reason to remove the letters.

I just cleaned the chrome really well with alcohol to remove any kind of oils/fingerprints that were on it, then it sticks just fine. Be pateient, spray lightly and use 3-4 coats and you will be good to go.
You can google 'plastidip removal' and find some videos of people removing plasti dip after long periods of time on wheels and it peels right off, I can not say how it would affect plastic finishes over long period, but I'm betting on it peeling right off myself.
