My First SUV

First, I wanted to thank Daniel for helping me out with my account activation problems!

Second, I'm excited that I just got a '97 Limited this weekend!

We desperately needed something with 4WD, since while our Scion tC handles perfectly fine in the snow and ice, our Mustang definitely does not. After about the 3rd time that my wife got it stuck in our driveway last winter, I vowed that that would be the last winter without a 4WD vehicle. It's funny, because my parents have a Chevy S-10 that always gets stuck in the snow, but their brand new Camry doesn't. So, it seems that Toyota is pretty good at making cars for the snow and ice. ;)

Since it's mainly for winter, I wanted something older that wouldn't matter if it got a little beat up, which is why I went with the one I got. It already has several cosmetic issues, so I got a great deal on it, but it seems to run great.

You can see the plastic piece on the right side of the bumper is missing, but the guy at the dealership said he's going to search a junkyard for it.

I think the previous (and only) owner installed an antenna here, because the regular antenna is broken. He also must not pay attention to clearance when backing up.

More evidence of not paying attention when backing up. :P

The engine could use a good cleaning, but everything seems to run great. I'm going to take it to get a full inspection on today though.

There's several other small scratches and dings, but like I said, I'm not worried about it. I might try to get the hole and rust on the back fixed so it doesn't get worse though.

Welcome. =)
I take it the handy back-up mirrors in the far back corners are a newer addition.

Pretty sure what you think was an antenna is actually the spray nozzle for the rear window windshield wiper juice.

Congrats on the new purchase.
