My first Toyota!

Coming from a Mazdaspeed3, fun car, but always liked my Granddad's 2003 4runner v8 Sport 2wd more. Been searching around for a bit and found an '03 black 4runner Sport with only 22,300 miles. Yeah I didn't believe it either, but everything checked out. Older owner just didn't drive it often.

Still running the orig. tires, completely rotted. Swapping those out asap. Toyota inspection says I need all new fluids, new drive belt, new wiper blades, but everything else checked out.

Some small quirks: a few weird tiny sun spots (pictured) on the hood that are eyesores if you look closely. Tons of tiny scratches. Dashboard rattles/clicks a lot. Sunroof rattles and makes a grinding noise when being closed. Plastic cladding is faded in spots (will plastidip them black). Once I fix these little things, I think this will be my favorite vehicle to date!

Edit: PIcs coming momentarily...

Nice! And I thought I had low mileage (55k when I bought her, just turned 70k)

Give her a good wash, wax and buff. Also for temp. Use mothers back to black on the cladding.

Welcome!

Crazy low miles! I bet you can get a pro detailer to polish the spots off and also the small scratches.

But, geezus man, who took your pictures, Michael J Fox??

haha. i know my camera phone sucks. when i get her pro-detailed and plastidipped and the way I want her, I'll break out the Cannon t3i and get some decent pics.

As for the low mileage, yeah I was pretty surprised to see this on Craigslist. I couldn't believe it either.

Very nice find. If I were closer, and hadn't just had surgery, I'd help you with the detail. I know I could get most of those scratches out. Hopefully I will be able to plasti-dip mine soon

Very nice find! 2 years ago I switched from an 02 Celica GT-S to an 03 Runner. And by far this Runner is my favorite ride I've had. Are you planning on doing any mods?

Glad to see you pulled the trigger! Congrats on the new truck and good luck with the Plasti-Dipping. Enjoy modding your new ride!

Thanks guys. Well, it's only 2wd so not too many mods. I just got my new Firestone Destinations 265/70/17 and I love them so far. Getting the bigger size definitely makes it look better.

Next plans/mods in no particular order:

Plastidip cladding
New head unit - JVC KW-AV60BT + Sub and Amp
Remote start/security of some kind
Drop in air filter, probably aFe (dry)
Hydrocarbon Delete
I might consider doing a 1" lift if I can do it cheaply!

I need to fix my dash rattle and sunroof rattles. The previous owner didn't take care of the paint or wash it often, so a detailing is in order. I might want to replace the carpet too.

And that's about it. I eventually want to turn my 4Runner into a camping rig as well. Lovin' the truck so far (minus gas mileage).
