my mechanic effed me

I have a spacer lift, about 4 inches on my 2004 4runner. I just had the X-REAS replaced with 5100s on the front and fox racing in the rear. Now my front passenger side has a noise coming from it. It's a rotational grinding noise that sounds like metal on metal and it's not good. idk what it could be and now my trust in mechanics is going through the shitter

I wouldn't call him "my mechanic" anymore. Nothing wrong with a little help with mods just make sure you can trust that person or somebody that backs their work up.

It could be nothing at all. The backing plate might be bent and rubbing. Jack the wheel up and give it a spin before you start freaking out.

I agree don't jump down your mechanics neck, it could be something small, could be big. issues happen, its how he deals with it that should be your factor of keeping him as your mechanic.

Or at the very least a shop with suspension and lift experience. I've paid to lift someone to lift all my 4x4s for 2 main reasons I don't have the space and lifting equipment to do it efficiently and my time is worth to much. I have done many of the other mods to my vehicle but know when to pass it along to someone with the tools and experience. I'm lucky I have a local 4x4 shop with a great reputation which Westshore Spring and 4x4 to take my vehicle in to locally.

Yup, sounds like nothing more than a bent backplate.... Which is an easy fix. That can happen to anyone....... Definitely no reason to freak out about.
