1st off, they're advertising a 3.9% and I brought in my bank of America 3.5% certificate and even the senior salesman said 'no way, we cant top that'. The finance manager matched it. So 3.5% is doable at the dealership.

Going through USAA made the majority of it smooth and quick, no haggling over the main meat of it.

Offered the alarm package for 795 without a remote start, which would be 325 more. Talked them down to 850 for both; the alarm was installed on the spot and they will come to my house to install the remote start. They advertised a 2 year agreement (alarm company) if your vehicle was stolen they would pay for it...got it bumped to 5 years.

Waited a 1/2 hour for the finance manager and told him that and now have 3 free oil changes coming my way.

O it was as was the rear window, god bless the beautiful days in San Diego!

Im digging the new things I find it can do, like touching the drivers door handle after I get out and it locks all the door or when I walk up to it and get to any handle and it unlocks..smart keys are wicked! I left my smart key inside and tried to lock it and it just let off a sustained beep to tell me to get it.

That was taken just off I-8 at the beaches there, which was where I headed right after buying it to show it off and get some pictures shot.

Mine was the same! Same when I filled a 4gb usb drive with music and stuck it in the ipod area and was excited when it popped up on the nav screen

Granted I was disappointed I couldnt pick random for the entire drive, only the specific folder I was in. I may have to throw random songs into 1 folder.

Drove 600 miles to Fallon, NV and the best MPG I saw was 19.1.
no a/c going, windows up.

Am really hoping to see this get above 20 for freeway driving.

How fast were you going and were you using cruise control?

65-75 and cruise control the majority of the time, stopped only once at around 310 miles for gas, slowed a dozen times to go through small towns too.

I don't think you're gonna see 20 mpg doing anything over 60 mph on CC, based on the testing standards used by the EPA.

Back in my 4Runner!

Hines Collision did a hell of a job, did a long hard walk around, touching, using a flashlight at different angles at the paint and couldnt find 1 flaw.

Paid my $500 deductable out of the $8700 final price and back on the road!

congrats man, glad that's over for you. i thought these accidents were caused by others? why did you have to pay anything?

1st one was a hit and run, cops caught the guy though, stated he had 'AAA' insurance but as of today, USAA has not been able to get a hold of him nor find any record of him through any 'AAA' insurance agencies. Police report isnt out yet, so the only route to get my money is to take him to court once its released..unfortunately Ill be moving to Washington St next month so wont be anywhere near the courts we'd have to go through. Who knows, things may sort themselves out and right the wrongs...

So USAA is having to pay my uninsured motorists bill and I forked out the deductible.

2nd one the other party paid it all.

Nope, Ocean beach. Its the beach just south of where the San Diego River meets the ocean.

Will take it out this weekend to get re-acquainted with it!

Just finished a nice 5 day trip from San Diego to Seattle, stopping in Las Vegas and Yellowstone along the way. Will make my way up to Whidbey Island in a week or so, which Ill call home for the next couple years.

Rode great with no issues, maintained a daily ave of around 23MPG, normally going around 70-75 mph with no A/C going. Drove around 200 miles within Yellowstone, would be great if they had some off road trails within the park. Mix of snow and rain throughout the day made for some great trails and whenever we got out to do some hiking, it seemed to calm down.

Will be doing a good deep cleaning of it tomorrow after it collected 7 states of dirt.

Yellowstone was great for wildlife sightings, but Glacier had the best opportunities for taking the 4Runner off the road. Welcome home!
