My new '94 Evergreen Pearl!

Quick intro, this is my '94 Evergreen Pearl 4runner...amazingly complete and practically rust free which is pretty rare in this area. Its an auto but not a big deal, this isn't a DD, just a run around rig. Got it for a steal and it only has 112k on it and runs great. New 31" General Grabbers and new brakes all around, also has a Yakima bike rack which I won't use but looks cool. I did an air filter change, oil/filter change and went to town with the Porter Cable to bring back the pearl paint effect.

I may create another build thread but for now this is how she stands. I do have a saggy rear and the question I had is can I just add the 1.25" daystar spacers to the rear to bring it up? Its got new rear shocks so the ride is pretty decent and I don't want to do any panhard bar drop brackets or new coils to then have to replace the new KYB's in back so I'm hoping I can just stuff these spacers in there to level her out...thoughts?

Ok so some views but maybe my question got buried under the pics...my rear coils are factory original and are a bit soft with some sag, I just ordered the Daystar 1.25" coil spacers to bring her back up, this should be fine without any supporting mods correct?

Should work just fine. I have the 1.5" ones on my 3rd gen and I like them.

I like your shop floor! While the spacers will pick the back up, your springs are still beat. A new set of rear springs will do wonders for you. Check out the 2nd gen lift thread if you havent already.

Very nice rig. I replaced my springs with new off Amazon for about $60 shipped. Completely changed the truck positively, highly recommend if your not lifting.

Ok thanks for the replies. Here's my dilemma, if I go with the replacement coils (like Moog), instead of the daystars, will i get the equivalent lift of the 1.25" spacers I currently plan on putting on?

If I do the Moog's and the daystars, then I might be facing too much of a rake is what I'm thinking...advice is appreciated.

Spacers should work out just fine. You could also add air bags to help increase ride height and load capacity. What ever option you choose it your ride and your :artist:

Ok thanks, and I need not worry about supporting mods with moog's and 1.25"? Such as panhard drop or longer shocks? I have some new KYB's on there now, setup for "stock" height.

With that setup you will not need a pan drop or longer shocks. You will be fine.

Ok, pics as promised, and for anyone who cares. The Moog's and the Daystar's gave me exactly 2.25". I reckon 1" from the Moog's, and 1.25" from the Daystar's. Fantastic look, though I did notice the axle shifted about .25" to the right which surprised me as I only went up about 1" from stock height, but driveability is perfect.

Highly recommend the Moog's at the very least, or for a slight rake, add the Daystars. On 31's, I have 7" from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender in front, and 7.25" in the rear. Because the rear fender is cut lower, it gives the effect of more rake, which I think looks great.

Certainly a good choice as well, you'll net about 1" of lift if your sag is of average droop. I forgot to mention the ride is 10x better with the Moogs.

I don't know etiquette on this forum but is it bad taste to ask how much it was?

in a few months once this vw dieselgate is over I am doing the buyback and looking to pay cash for a 4runner. I would prefer 3rd gen but would be just as happy with a 2nd gen that is as clean and low mileage as that one *hint hint if you want sell *

I have never owned a toyota or a 4runner but I know that is what I want and I am not looking at any other vehicle

Your nice 94! Can you help a rookie?

I just acquired a 1995 4WD. I wanted to put the same wheel opening trim on mine as you have on yours. Is that available on this site via someone parting out a 2nd generation, or is there an aftermarket vendor who carries them. I need a lot of those type parts, i.e. The rubber caps on each end of the running boards, and some other trim pieces too.
