My "new" ride!

Ok. Sorry I havent been on this forum lately, with all the stupid things that happened, I havent had time to sign on... Quick update....

Looong story people..

I left on vacation for the Philippines on July 23. Now I'm pretty sure it was suppose to be just a "vacation". Ended up my parents, behind my back, decided to RELOCATE me and make me stay here! Now they're forcing me to stay here in the Philippines to study and supposidly take care of my 90 year old grandma and take over the responsibilities of our rental properties over here...

Anyways at first I thought this is MORALLY WRONG to FORCE me to stay here.. Then I slowly learned that my dad is just going to be here for a few months only JUST TO GET ME STARTED on my college and stuffs here.. AT first I thought he was going to be here most of the time so I thought "why do I have to be here when he's here to take care of things" but I slowly learned that he's gonna be back in Fresno CA in maybe 3 or 4 months to go back and live with my mom..

Anyways I still think it's somewhat WRONG to force me to live somewhere where I don't want to live! Ok, MAYBE if they gave me an idea that this is a possibility, I would have better "prepared" myself for this trip and would have at least brought more of my stuffs and maybe said my last goodbye to my friends and stuffs... But NOOO I didn't even get a chance to say "later" to my dojo friends, and i didn't even get to have a last lunch or something with my friends! Heck, I even owe someone lunch still, and I had the whole summer to do it, but I ended up not being able to fulfill it.. so yea..

But I'm getting used to life over here... What I totally miss are 3 things: 1. MY cars (a 4Runner at a car exchange is running at about $65k) 2. My friends (especially ALEX) and 3. The humid-free weather in Fresno CA! I really really can't stand this humid weather! I mean the weather may be only about 82F BUT the humidity really kills me!

But anyways enough talk, my new ride, since my truck over here is starting to have problems, is NOT a 4Runner, but a slightly used Isuzu Trooper It's a 2002 Isuzu Trooper LS, FoxFire Red, Ivory Interior, Turbo Intercooled Common Rail Diesel, and it only had 28k km! (roughly 17k-18k miles) plus I checked with the dealer today and the mileage is correct with complete service records so this baby sounds good as new!

Sorry to hear about your relocation, but your new truck should be a beauty! Those Troopers are very reliable, durable, and just nice IMHO. I looked at them real close when i was in school (well, more like dreaming for them; no money at the time to even consider it)...they were excellent SUVs. Yeah, Consumer Reports came down on them real hard in the late 1990s for it's rollover tendencies (BOGUS test BTW...later proven by many authorities). It's a tall SUV with a flexy suspension...so, it may get a bit tippy around corners, but it also rides pretty nice from what i remember! It's the nature of the beast...it's not a race car. I also believe that Isuzu diesels are well-respected too!

So, you got a real gem IMHO. I don't think that you're gonna miss the 4runner too much.

Good luck over there.

haha. thanks. Yes I remember all that BS that consumer reports reported about this vehicle, but we started liking this vehicle after we rented a couple of them back in 2000... They're really nice, obviously any SUV this size will be more prone to roll-over but that's science, high center of gravity obviously makes the vehicle more tipsy...

But anyways, yes you are correct about Isuzu diesel engines. They're pretty famous over here because they are very reliable and durable. I'm very fortunate enough to find this well taken cared of, barely used Trooper because we almost ended up with a 2001 Trooper with 68k km... Luckily before we pulled the trigger on that 01, we found this 02 with only 28k km.. :)

Front (yes the billet grille is STOCK)

dude you're gonna like it out there in no time. you just need to adjust a little bit. i wish to go back there as well but mortgages and bills is keeping me busy here in CA. :D .

Besides you can always come back here for vacation. and you can always pimp your ride in PI as much as you want, no complicated dmv-like restrictions, y'know what i mean ;): .

Enjoy your stay, there is just soooo many things you can do in the Philippines, hot women ;): yes lots of it , Palawan, Boracay, Bohol and much more , lots of good stuff. I'll be there soon if everything goes as planned.

Well i've been here for a little over 2 months now, i still CANT adjust to this damn humidity.. i mean come on, I was at Isuzu Inteco at 9am and the temp gauge was reading 105F! geez..

But ur right about the women. lol. What's weird, if u guys remember my prom disaster thread, I've shown other people here my graduation pix and ALL have said (even before i told them who i liked) that Alex looks like a Filipina! wtf! lol.. So apparently my tastes are leaning towards Filipinas... lol.. :bigok: More pix to come of my TRooper... just a little busy so i'll leave u guys at this for now. :)

And yes, it's RIDICULOUS with all the accessories and stuff u can put on a car, that at times u can't even recognize what kind of car it is! lol.. But im keeping my new baby STOCK looking... Just adding the tint, fog lamps, chrome exhaust tip, and a TOD (Torque on Demand) sticker on the back, which is what the American gas engine Troopers have on their 4wd models..:p

MY two babies together... (and my driver behind my CRV lol)
