Damn couldnt resist that's all I have to say, sold my 02 3 weeks ago and just bought a 99 4x4 e locker hood scoop forest green with 147k miles will post pics when I get it home and all cleaned up!

From your description of the new 'Runner, I thought for a minute that you bought Quicksilvr's... but then I remembered, you're in AK.

It's ok, mine is almost exactly that. Just need a sport hood and to loose 75k miles lol

Thanks I'm excited i won't be modding this one like i did the other just a few basics, just got done washing and waxing and fixing a few minor thing, will take some pics tomorrow in the sun.

ripcorp- I sold my old one for about 10,500 and bought this one for 5,500 so i was able to put some money away, this one will get better gas mileage than the other and I'm not going to lose near as much racking on another 50k miles on it next year
 
it wasn't really the MPG that was the problem, just that i was putting 1,000 miles a week on it and i could see the resell value going down way fast after just a year, so picked I up something else that has already gone down a bit in value, and should be a great all around vehicle
 
so hopefully someone with factory fogs can chime in here, but..... how do you get them to turn on, I've tried with just the running lights on, then with low beams then high beams, maybe both my bulbs are burnt out? any thoughts

RR diff locker question, I'm not familiar with these, once you push the button for the locker and the light starts flashing on the dash, do you just start driving and it will lock and will the light turn solid indicating the diff is locked

factory fogs have the switch located to the inside of the headlight switch, and yes if wired factory they will only be on with the low beam headlights.

diff lock, yep, 4 low, and drive a little bit and it should lock. Mine usually doesn't take much... on rocks I drive with out it until i get stuck, once i press the easy button, it barely needs to rock back and then forward before its locked, and I'm over what ever held me up.
 
thanks sticky ill play with it in the morning and see if i can get those lights on, if not hopefully the bulbs in those are easy to replace, thanks for the help with the diff locker as well can't wait to use it!!

On the lights stalk, towards the steering wheel there is a little wheel/switch that when rotated towards the front of the runner, turns on your factory fogs/driving lights.

Rear E-locker
-On all 1996-2000 4Runners, there was an option to add an electronic locking rear differential. It was never standard on any trim package, just an option. When the e-locker is engaged, the axle is locked together and both wheels must spin at the same speed, a locked axle must NEVER be used on road. This is helpful in very low traction off road situations, when an ‘open’ diff is hindering progress. When the e-locker is disengaged, the axle is operates as an 'open' diff.The e-locker was discontinued after 2000 and wasn’t offered again on the 4runner until 2009. The FJ Cruiser and Tacoma also had this option (TRD Off-Road package).

The button to engage the e-locker is found on the dash to the left of the steering wheel.
This was taken out of the 3rd gen's buyer's guide.

I've messed with that fog lights I think the bulbs must be burnt out, anyone know if they are easily replaceable? If so what bulbs are needed to replace the fog lights
 
Be careful when opening the fog light "casing" as I stripped one of the three screws on both sides when replacing mine. I just went to AutoZone for replacement bulbs. Didn't order anything special and they work great now. Just ensure you are using the correct Phillips head screwdriver and have a way to drill out the stripped screw if/when it starts to strip. I also picked up a few extra screws from a local hardware store for next time. Hope this helps!
