my new SUPERCHARGER :) from ebay

this is my used supercharger off ebay they said it only has 10,000 miles on it and it seems to be in good condition. it also came with 6 larger injectors smaller pulley and spilt second fuel timing calibrator with 4 different tunes on it my original plan was to run the URD seventh injector kit i was wondering if i could run this fuel controller with the urd seventh injector kit?

Yeah that's what I was thinking it looked super small il measure them tomorrow. Is the seventh injector allot better then this setup? Il probably just go with this on since it's here and I don't have cash for the senevth injector kit. And also should I rebuild it ?

A perfect tune.

@ 13.5 PSI, you're running the supercharger @ about 60% efficiency. It will be producing a TON of heat to go along w/that increased boost. The TRD S/C is an Eaton M-62 and the max boost that it is designed to put out is right around 13 PSI, so it CAN be run like that, but it will take alot of tuning to get it running w/o detonation.

Not to mention, the rotational speed of the S/C is about 15% higher w/the 2.0 pulley VS stock, so there's some added wear/tear on the bearings too.

The 7th injector is easier to tune, because you're only adding fuel where the stock system can't keep up, but w/the 6 injector setup, you've got to tune the entire power band. The 6 injector setup can supply more fuel overall, and with that tiny pulley I can see why the previous owner was running that versus the 7th. There's also a reason why they needed FOUR tunes. When you've got things running @ the limits, if even a small variable changes it can throw off the tune enough to make the truck unsafe to drive. He probably had four tunes for the various driving situations he'd encounter... (elevation, fuel quality, winter/summer, etc.) Those tunes may or may not work for you.

Congrats on the purchase. Start reading.

Well that stinks that it's harder to tune but it seems like this kit would be better in the long run. I was reading About this kit and the thing I liked about it allot was that it will allow me to run a supra mas air sensor. I herd it helps out allot with supercharged engines

If you don't mind me asking, what did you get it for? I've been searching for superchargers for the past few months, and haven't seen a setup with all that stuff included yet! That's a hell of a find.
I also plan to run the 6 Supra injector setup, but I have a 98. I read that 96-98s run a little better with that setup.

To answer jmildoc's question, yes the mpgs can increase, but that depends on how you drive it. If you constantly floor it, it won't get any better. Plus you need to use 93 octane, so its costs more. But IMO its still worth it.

Yeah about the mpgs going up I believe it cuz the motor is just gonna work way less and probably less down shifting on the hills but mines gonna go down big time for the first few fil ups lol and I payed 1800$! I think that's a smoking good deal especially with all the extras it came with. Mines a 02 that's why I wanted the 7th injector kit but it's 900$! And the upgrade kit for it to control the timing is another 700$! Now I just need to find a supra mas air sensor and ungrade my fuel pump

Ya thats a great deal. I'm wanting to stay under $2k for everything that you got. I can do all the install and stuff myself. Every time I spot a good deal, its gone right before I can get it. Oh well, just have to wait a bit longer.

What the heck was the previous owner running that pulley on...? Anyway, that doesn't really matter.

So now I need to tell you that from personal experience, tuning with 6 Injectors is a HUGE pain in the rear. I paid a very well known professional here in the Seattle/Bellevue (Tuned my cousins 750+ HP Turbo M3 and my Dads 916/512) area hundreds and hundreds of dollars and even he told me he was having trouble, and couldn't get it right after probably 50 pulls on the Dyno. Granted, I was not running the FTC1 (I have records that my vehicle had it at one time, but was removed because it was doing something crazy and keeping the fuel pump running when the vehicle was off).

When I got the 7th injector kit the driveability of my 4Runner was FAR superior than the 6 injector setup and the guy who was tuning said he felt bad charging me for tuning, and only charged me for the 2 dyno runs (that's all it took) and said it was 100x easier to tune. Street tuning myself, I can say the same.

If you're dead set on running those 6 injectors I have my old maps from when I was running them as well if you want them. I highly recommend that URD pulley though... I think I remember you lving near sea level, and I feel that's far too much boost without much more expensive modificiations...

I also have a copy of the spit second R4 software I could send you, if needed.

I apologize for that poorly written post, have 9 people talking to me about other things from across the room.

Also, if you go for the 7th Injector set, I have a set of 6 stock injectors you could have for the price of shipping...

Yeah il take the maps my email is [email protected]. Im at 4,000 feet evaluation I'm just going to try and run this kit for now and for sure use the urd pulley. When I get the 7th injector kit can I leave my big injectors on or do I have to go back to stock?

I believe you leave the stock ones in, but not 100% sure. If you do that, let me know, I may take the 6 injector setup off you depending on what I get.

Yeah let me know that would work out great for both of us and I could just run the 7th injector like I always wanted. You got a little time to deside I'm still going to replace my water pump and upgrade my cooling fans with some exspensive spal fans. There's no way I'm going back to that mechanical fan lol

What do you mean expensive SPAL fans? I'm finding the dual kits with around 3200cfm for about 225$ plus 50$ for the controller relays.. I just need to measure the radiator to see what size I need to order for the paneling that comes with it....

So how much did you buy the kit from ebay?

Ok, it finally got me. I want one now too. What are the stock vs S/C dyno results? On a safe daily driver tune.

Good idea to upgrade the radiator as well?

I was searching for a tell-all thread but couldn't really find one. Thanks again and good luck with the install.
