My new-to-me 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4

So, I had been shopping for a while and finally pulled the trigger. This 4Runner checked all my boxes: 2000, 5-speed, 4x4, black, engine breather, etc. It's got 145k miles on it currently, and those have mostly been highway miles. There is some slight underbody rust, but I've been reading up about that and it seems to be something that I could fix, paint over, etc. No door/door frame/tail gate/exhaust pipe/etc rust though. Needs new sway bar end links, but I figure I can do without those for a while. Its gonna need new back shocks soon, and brake pads. All in all, I feel good about paying $4800 for it!

Now comes the fun part. Anyone have a good lead on a solid rust converter sealer aside from Rustoleum? Planning on getting under the car and sanding the areas with a wire brush/sandpaper and painting over/sealing the rusted areas. After the minor repairs, what are the first upgrade items I should be looking at? Looking at lower ball joints, Tundra brakes, and cold air intake first. Any suggestions?

Welcome! Nice find, congrats. You've got a good list to get started with. I'm sure it's on your list, but sand/paint those center caps - will look so much better.
And, since you're doing the TBU, look around for a cheap 5 star wheel to use as the spare. It will fit, and you'll need it if you have a flat up front because your current spare won't work with the bigger calipers.
